yep.  and he's being a tool.

Hopefully they can trade him and make everyone happy.

If not, just play dude.

You could be right, but I'd like to see one team sometime say "Go ahead retire". And see if they actually do it to set a precedent.

Later years owners can say "yeah you're going to retire? Sure you are".

I'm not sure they can get value until he shows he is healthy again, but we'll see. Fantasy-wise getting on a good team like the Eagles, the Broncos or Chiefs would help me.

they'll be losing whatever value he has on the trade market right now.  and they'll be gaining a year-long holdout soap opera distraction.

True.

And it's not like they didn't woo him back to camp last year by saying "We'll rework your deal next year"... and then didn't. ... And then he injured himself, driving his potential earnings down.

He's like a poster child for actually doing what Rosenpenis tell you to do.

I thought Green Bay had more class than that. He's obviously worth more than they are paying him.

Considering how other teams are taking care of their players (New Chad Johnson Contract) and Walker can't help but see that, there's no way he's bluffing the Pack.

But I do hope the Packers call his supposed bluff. Then they'll get what they deserve...nothing :D

sure, but his true value lies somewhere inbetween what they're paying him and what he is asking for

Wasn't sure which question I was answering, is he bluffing or will he give up his money this year.

I said no to "is he bluffing". He will sit out if he is not traded after the fiasco he went through last year. JMO.

I was just about to post the same thing Hat Trick.

Which question are you asking here Randall?

Is Javon bluffing? Your thread title

~ or ~

Will he give up base salary of $1.15 M this year? Your box title

:D

In the end, No answered both for me, but I'm not sure that'll work for others.

No....Walker's not bluffing

&

No...Walker won't give up his entire base of $1.15 mil this year, just the prorated amount of 10 games worth.

Yeah, why didn't Hines Ward do it last year or the year before then? Obviously honoring contracts doesn't matter to you but people all over the country wait for contracts to be up to get a bigger payday.

And when your skills decline how many athletes give money back?

probably because the steelers treat ward with dignity and respect, and honor the promises they make to him. which obviously is the exact opposite of how the packers have dealt with walker.

What promises were made? They never offered to renew his contract.

Where did you get that from? Do you have any proof of that? I never heard it. Sounds like bull.

If you want him come up with a fair offer.

In 2004 he was #3 in yards and 4th in TD's.

Of course, but it has t be considered because that is where his value is and he can't be traded for value injured. If they trade him now they hurt themselves. To get value he has to show he is heaed.

Very true. I just think if he wants to be traded he needs to come in for training camp and show what he can do or let teams work him out.

It may never happen but I think he needs to give some so he can get his wish.
