Later years owners can say "yeah you're going to retire? Sure you are". I'm not sure they can get value until he shows he is healthy again, but we'll see. Obviously honoring contracts doesn't matter to you but people all over the country wait for contracts to be up to get a bigger payday. And when your skills decline how many athletes give money back? I just think if he wants to be traded he needs to come in for training camp and show what he can do or let teams work him out.
