Found this on myfantasyleague. Don't know if its been posted or not...

(KFFL) The Detroit Free Press reports 20 NFL personnel men ranked the running backs on a 1-to-5 basis for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. They used a system where a first-place vote was worth five points, a second-place vote worth four points and so on. USC RB Reggie Bush came in first with 100 points. Memphis RB DeAngelo Williams finished in second with 61 points followed by LSU RB Joseph Addai in third with 38 points. In fourth place with 36 points was USC RB LenDale White and UCLA RB Maurice Drew placed fifth with four points.

So everyone is in agreement that Reggie Bush is the number one, and Williams at two. What I found interesting is that Laurence Maroney isnt even on the list... The dimmunitive one, Maurice Drew rounded out the top five. I guess all the guys arguing over who's a better fit for the Indy Offense can cool it... Oh well, just thought it was interesting

I've been saying that Addai is better than Maroney for a while now (listening, Capt Hook?).

I've seen them both play and I honestly have no reason to believe Maroney will succeed in the NFL. He ran through truck-sized holes in college, thanks to an excellent O-line and a zone-blocking scheme. I could see him thriving in Denver or Atlanta, but not many other places.

I think he'd be especially lost in Indy, where he'd be asked to catch and block as well -- two things he rarely had to do in college.

I was never really high on Maroney, but I thought he'd be rated higher than Drew...  Then again, I truley beleive that Lendale White is the best runningback in the draft...

Batter than Bush and Williams? I wouldn't go there.

I concur, as the rest are undersized and White is NFL RB prototype. He will look great in a Panthers uniform come KO 2006.

I'm sorry, but this sounded like absolute horse crap when I read it.

1) For 20 personelle men to not rate Moroney somewhere on a list like that seemed a stretch.

2) If you add up the points, 60 are missing. I wanted to see where the rest of the points went as that seemed like too much to me for 20 people to have those points split between the rest of the pack...

Thought I'd go to the Detroit Free Press source:

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel polled 20 NFL personnel men over the last two weeks, asking them to rank the running backs on a 1-to-5 basis, with a first-place vote worth five points, a second-place vote worth four and so on.

To no surprise, Southern Cal's Reggie Bush was the unanimous top choice, garnering all 20 first-place votes and 100 points.

He was followed by Memphis' DeAngelo Williams with 61, Minnesota's Laurence Maroney with 59, LSU's Joseph Addai with 38, USC's LenDale White with 36 and UCLA's Maurice Drew with four.

I couldn't find the original Sentinel article without signing up, but anyway, it appears the original post may be in error.

Maroney has size, speed, and vision. He needs a good year or two of strong coaching to help his pass blocking and maybe his timing hitting the holes, but I believe he will be a very productive starter within 2-3 years. If he slides down in the draft, he will be a nice steal for whoever is paying attention.

I think LenDale White=Ron Dayne :D

LenDale White may end up being a bust, but he's a very different back than Dayne. Dayne, at his best, had mediocre speed whereas White is actually quite fast (when healthy, and in shape). The real question is White's attitude -- if he hadn't been injured and out of shape over the last couple of weeks, he was a consensus first round pick (and Dayne was that as well, but he had fourth round speed).

Maroney chased Barber out of the U of MN early because it was all he could do to SHARE carries with him. Barber showed last year he is a complete RB IMO in Dallas. Maroney will show people the same thing this year, if he drops somebody is getting a steal. He has more power than you think and he has that "burst" to get to and thru the hole. MN had a good Oline and I agree they make RBs look good but also remember MN has nothing for a passing threat IMO and there are 8 or 9 Def players in the box every play. He handles traffic well and like Barber before him didn't put the ball on the ground alot. I really hope he gets in a good situation because he could be good.

Side note: Barber IMO offers a more complete package in Dallas. He has the football "IQ" that Parcells will like and now that he is not a "rookie". Look for Jones to have his hands full keeping his spot.
