Swiss Cheezhead
Is it just me, or does Reggie Bush look like a gnome standing next to Super Mario? If college players are like meat, I'd say the Texans DEFINITELY got the better price per pound. That dude is HUGE. Steve McNair has got to be praying that he doesn't have to go back to Tennessee. If all that stood between me and Mario Williams was Michael Roos, I'd be crapping pants.
CaptainHook
Two quotes from different anaylysts on ESPN.com this morning: "He saw his stock soar after his amazing performance at the NFL combine in February, running the 40-yard dash in 4.73 seconds and doing 35 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. There were some questions about his work ethic after getting sacks in 11 of his last 23 games, but he has the potential to dominate." "Certainly he isn't a dominating defender yet, not when he had sacks in just 16 of his 36 appearances for the Wolfpack. Ten of his 14½ sacks in 2005 came in just three games and against lesser opponents. Half of his six sacks in 2004 came in one outing, although, granted, the opponent was Florida State." PantherDave
These stats are misleading, as Mario pretty much shut off one side of the feild, and I can't tell you how many times he still chased down the RB who was running away from him. As a WolfPack alumni, I can tell you that every team that did'nt game plan to avoid him hence run the other way, usually paid the price-kid's the real deal. broncosn05
Well Bush is a squirt but Vernon Davis is the most dominant player at his position I've ever seen watching his highlight video.

There's NO doubt that Williams has as much or more talent as any D-line prospect -- ever. Did he utilize ALL that talent ALL the time in college? No, but college players rarely do. Either way, just as a football player, I think he's veeerrry close to being Reggie Bush's equal, while also being at a more premium NFL position, and a "needier" position for the Texans. Also , I'm a big believer in talent + character = coach's responsibility. If the guy's not a complete dumbass, his NFL coaches should be able to squeeze all the talent out of him. That's why they're getting paid the "big bucks". If Williams flops in the NFL, it will be the fault of Houston's coaching staff.
