Crazysight
This is turning out to be a great draft for the Pats as they've addressed two major team needs, and picked up a WR whom many predicted to go as high as 15 and could eaily end up being the best wideout taken in the draft. I wouldn't be surprised to see him start this year opposite Branch. Two more needs they need to address are the offensive-line and the secondary. Though Maroney is the type who could add to both the runninggame and the pass-blocking in the passing game, and they're still in the running for Ty Law. I'm pretty sure they have better cap room than the team they're supposed to be competing with (I believe it's Cleveland). Law has always said that "he's a businessman" so I expect him to go for whomever offers him the most money.

Sgt. Ryan
That Pats defense is going to be terrible. I hardly think this team is back.
Swiss Cheezhead
That Pats defense is going to be terrible. I hardly think this team is back. 1444070 Yeah -- they still need a corner (or 3).
Menudo
They did have two nice offensive picks, but, like Sarge said, they still have work to do on the other side of the ball. That was a great move to come up and get Jackson at that spot.
Crazysight
That Pats defense is going to be terrible. I hardly think this team is back. 1444070 Actually the Pats were never actually "not back." Rodney Harrison coming back, still have the most dominat front 3 in the league, possibly adding Ty Law to Asante Samuel (whose unsung but has always been solid despite the way the Denver refs robbed him in the playoffs last year) in the secondary. Now they just need to add a swift OLB to take the place of McGinest in the 3-4 (which they might actually be able to find in the 4th as undersized LBs only fit into 3-4 schemes which make them fairly easy to come by). No the Pats will be back for next year. If you don't believe my analysis you can also just check their schedule for the coming year and compare it to the one they had last year. Crazysight
Lets see what you have to say once Rodney Harrison does a complete return and is sacking that wanker QB of yours in Denver!
Crazysight
Rodney Harrison = HOF. He's not done yet.
Menudo
Rodney Harrison = HOF. He's not done yet. 1444095 Do you think the Pats would take Polamalu straight up for him ? Rodney Harrison is up in age to come back strong from that big of an injury. He'll still be solid, but, probably never what he once was. Crazysight
I also expect them to draft a kicker at some point towards the end. At the very least he would push Grammatica.

Randall
I'd take an 90 or even 80 year old Rodney Harrison over most safeties in the league. 1444106 That may be more accurate.
Swiss Cheezhead
If they get Mark Anderson, Stanley McClover, or James Wyche in the 3rd, then get two corners in the final four rounds, this will be a very good draft for the Pats.
Crazysight
That may be more accurate. 1444192 No Rodney is real good but he won't be still playing at 80 or 90 Luckily for you, the Patriots will be playing the Vikings this year, so you'll get to see how good Harrison (and the Patriots) will be up close and personal Edited April 29, 2006 by Crazysight
Crazysight
Patriots just missed having Jon Alston fall to them in the third too. They took some guy named Dave Thomas at TE I don't know where that one fits in. I'd have rather gone with KO Simpson or whoever the top-rated kicker was. major-tom
Yeah -- they still need a corner (or 3). 1444086 Don't forget they re-signed Troy Brown. Maybe he can move to corner full time. How old is Brown anyway seems like he's been in league forever.
