How can he rank the Eagles so low? No one thought Bunkley was going to be there at 14, but the Eagles were patient and it worked out. Then they grab Justince in the second round who up until the draft was projected by most to go in the first round. Then they pick up Gilles in the 4th who I heard a few times that was projected to go late second/early third round. So basically 3 of their first 4 players they were able to get later then they were suppose to be drafted and they only finish as the 21 ranked team. They filled a hole on the d-line and now have a solid, young foundation on the o-line with Shawn Andrews & Winston Justice & Max-JeanGilles. I try not to get so worked up over these self proclaimed "experts", especially since not one person really knows how it will all work out, but I was thrilled with the Eagles draft and all I read here is that it was OK.

Also, he ranks the Jets as#1. They lost Mawae © & Fabini (T) and replace them with a rookie tackle & center and that is the best draft of all teams? Didn't they basically replace older solid player with rookies at the same positions?

I've read about how so many people liked our draft...then you have this grading system and the previous one in the other thread about Kiper(but another mock) giving us a C-....and it was based on the fact that Justice was passed on for a reason, Bunkley was a no-brainer and Bloom not being the answer at WR :D:D

Maybe Bunkley was a no-brainer, but everyone thought the Eagles would trade up for him. They waited and he fell. That sound like they did the right thing. This tool says Justice meesed up in a game so that is why he dropped so much. No way. Maybe there were some off the field issues, but they seem minor. To get first round talent in the second round is great. The Eagles drafted Bloom as a return specialist and that is it. He is not tagged as being the answer to any WR woes.

I sorta thought that KC was "ok" but pretty unspectacular. But after thinking about it some more, reaching on the first three picks (one in each round) by AT LEAST 5-10 spots each cost us AT LEAST three picks later on in the draft.

Meaning, if we would have dropped 5-10 spots in the first, we may have added another second or third round pick. By dropping 5-10 spots in the second, we may have added another 4th rounder. By dropping 5-10 spots in the third, we may have added another 5th rounder.

What would we have (potentially) had with a low 2nd round / high 3rd round pick? Tim Jennings (CB, GA) taken at 2.29 (62 overall), Darryl Tapp (DE, VaTech) taken at 2.30 (63 overall), Eric Winston (OT, Miami) taken 3.02 (66 overall) or Ashton Youboty (CB, Ohio St) taken at 3.06 (70 overall).

What would we have (potentially) had with a low 4th round / high 5th round pick? Elvis Dumervil (DE, Louisville) taken at 4.29 (126 overall), Orien Harris (DT, Miami U) taken at 4.36 (133 overall) or Ryan O'Callahan (OT, Cal) taken at 5.03 (136 overall).

What would we have (potentially) had with a low 5th round / high 6th round pick? Chris Kuper (OG, North Dakota) taken at 5.29 (161 overall), Michael Toudouze (OT, TCU) taken at 5.30 (162 overall), Jesse Mahelona (DT, Tennessee) taken 5.37 (169 overall), Mike Hass (WR, Oregon) taken at 6.02 (171 overall), Josh Lay (CB, Pittsburgh) taken at 6.05 (174 overall).

...plus, assuming we would have still ended up with our three first picks (which is pretty reasonable, given everything I've read so far...

KC's "Couldabeen" Draft (assuming that we would have added a high 3rd, a low 4th and a low 5th round pick by dropping down in each of the first three rounds adding those picks along the way ... not an unreasonable assumption, imvho):

1.22 Tamba Hali, DE, Penn State

2.22 Bernard Pollard, S, Purdue

3.02 Eric Winston, OT, Miami U

3.21 Brodie Croyle, QB, Alabama

4.29 Eric Dumervil, DE, Louisville

5.22 Marcus Maxey, CB, Miami U

5.37 Jesse Mahelona, DT, Tennessee

6.17 Tre Stallings, OG, Mississippi

6.21 Jeff Webb, WR, San Diego State

7.20 Jarrad Page, S, UCLA

...netting us:

3 defensive linemen

2 offensive linemen

2 safeties

1 cornerback

1 quarterback

1 wide receiver

...but, NO...

Carl Peterson is a moron. Again.

Nice rankings! Did they have a chimp do it?

Denny didn't do anything but pick Leinart, who fell to him. Millen totaly screwed up by taking Simms (who they say is a concussion waiting to happen). While the Vikings did not have a great draft they were certianly as good as Detroits!

The problem with the media's draft grades are that they are not the team. Someone can define the value of a player differently. These teams put in countless hours of film work among other things in determining the players that will work for them. Not just look at a list of "team needs" and determine it from there.

Teams must have seen something different in Gabe Watson who went in the fourth or Eric Winston in the 3rd. These guys were "expected" to go higher but now they will be called a "steal" by the media. I don't think you can really say they were "stolen" from the other teams. They were passed up by the other teams because they had someone better that fit what they wanted to do. They valued someone else higher. They didn't forget about them like someone who didn't prepare for a fantasy draft.
