Looking at the top three

I'm interested in how everyone projects Alexander, Tomlinson, and Larry Johnson for the next few years... They are head-and-shoulders above the other RBs, but all will experience some changes going into the season.

Alexander- no Hutchinson

Tomlinson- new QB

L. Johnson- new coaches and first full year carrying the load

How do you see it playing out? How do you rank the three for this season and long term?

Hutch was a Guard, everyone knows the Tackle is the most important O-line position, and I truly believe Walter Jones made Hutch look better than if an average tackle had been next to him. The Vikings O-line looks pretty powerful so I don't see much decline in Hutch's production there but W. Jones is an amazing tackle who will continue to push Alexander into the endzone like it was meant to be. :D

L. Johnson will do amazing. Possibly even break Alexander's TD record made last year. This guy is that good. He will no doubt be in the top 3 RB's FF-wise.

Tomlinson, with his new coach and absence of Breese may struggle but I doubt it. He will probably produce around the same as last year.

I'd rank them like this:

1) L. Johnson :D

2) S. Alexander :D

3) Tomlinson (L.T.) :D

I wonder what Priest Holmes thinks of LJohn's chances to break Salex's record this year?  I'm still thinking PH robs LJ of some value -- am I the only doofus thinking this in the entire Huddle?

Yes.

Herm said LJ gets the ball. Herm has a track record of having a primary ball carrier and letting the other languish (RE: CuMar). It would not be out of the question for LJ to break the single season carries record this season.

LT may be leaned on more this coming year. I often questioned how little he was used at times. I still like him in the top 3 with Tiki as a 4.

Sky has a different opinion, but I think he'll be fine. I have LJ, Shaun and LT.

Absolutely not. If Priest does return I think he'll vulture 20-25% of LJ's touches, but will he come back? That is still up in the air.

He's not top 10 yet but he still has 4 whole months to f*ck up my rankings. Right now I have it:

1. Shaun Alexander

2. LaDainian Tomlinson

3. Larry Johnson

4. Rudi Johnson

5. Edgerrin James

6. Steven Jackson

7. Cadillac Williams

8. Willis McGahee

9. Clinton Portis

10. Tiki Barber

He's in the group of J.Jones, D. Davis, LaMont Jordan, Ronnie Brown and Tatum Bell.

Tiki Barber should be between 4 and 6. How can you put Steven Jackson ahead of him? :doah:

He's old, I don't like him and Martz is now in Detroit. If he stays in my top 10 it will be Tiki's 1st time ever in it. You can have him.

Why do you have Portis so low? He seems locked in at WAS, had a good 2nd half... I have him at #4 or 5 right now.

LT2

LJ

Portis

R. Brown

C. Taylor

S. Jackson

I feel confident this will be the top 6.

If Bell gets 20+ carries a game, you can throw him in there as well.

Chester Taylor # 5? Did you just smoke a bowl before you typed this? :D

I don't think Bell could handle that....I wish he could, he'd be a top 5 back right now IMO..

I don't think there's anything wrong with CTaylor at 5...he has an all-pro line, all-pro FB and 4 very capable WR's...

he'll be this years LaMont Jordan with better rushing numbers..

A good QB, a line that has never been anything but average and 4 WRs who will struggle to keep 8 defenders out of the box vs. Collins, Gallery, Moss and Portis.

It'll take a nice pre-season in Mankato or Hopkins to convince me. I guess it could happen but I don't see it.
