rajncajn
Looks like he remains ahead of schedule. "“...I've been throwing for almost four weeks,” Brees said. In that the beginning of May was his target date to begin throwing following his shoulder surgery in January, Brees was told that must mean he remains ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation. He laughed and said with no small trace of sarcasm: “Only about a month.” Although Brees has long acknowledged the possibility that recovery from the torn labrum in his throwing shoulder could take longer, he has always believed he will be ready for the start of the season. Brees would not elaborate on his recovery yesterday. “This is where I've got to smile on the inside and not say any more,” he said. “I'm just going to have to shock the world in a few months.” http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/charg...s3chargers.html

rajncajn
More on Brees' recovery & future plans from Mike Tripplet of the Times Picayune. Sounds like he's definately ahead of schedule & is preparing to stay in New Orleans for the long haul. He has been throwing the football for about 3½ weeks. On the real "hard-core days," Brees said he will throw the ball up to 80 times, and he has increased the distance up to 25 yards. "I stay exactly on the number. . . . Actually, I take that back. I always have to end on a good one, so sometimes I'll throw one or two more," said Brees, who said he has felt so good that he has to keep telling himself to stay patient. "From Day One until now, it's been night and day. The way it feels, the way it comes out of my hand, I'm getting that snap back." He has been enthusiastic about trying to inspire the region, and to "be a part" of it. He and his wife, Brittany, decided to buy a house Uptown. "That was important to us. That's the charm of New Orleans. That's what you think of when you think New Orleans, the trolley running down St. Charles, that style of home in the Garden District," said Brees, who has big plans for his charitable foundation in his new city. "Obviously, it's hard to comprehend and understand everything that's gone on. We only know what we see and what we hear from teammates. But I'm the quarterback of this football team, and I think that represents a lot. "It creates an opportunity for me, and I want to do everything I can for us to succeed as a franchise and as an organization, and also to help rebuild the community through the foundation."
