I bought some sushi grade tuna steaks and have it marinating in Kikoman Teryaki Lite right now, going to cook'em med-rare. Having just plain white rice and the "Mama Jo's" salad recipie I've posted in FTCP during football season, with the steaks.

we will be doing chinese take out.

something i like to do with ahi is just coating all sides with oil then either some sort of rub or sesame seeds. just sear all sides in a very hot skillet. use the teriyaki for dipping.

Sounds good-I'm going to have some teryaki in some small carafes for dipping as well.

I just cheated, went and flipped them again in the marinade, cut off a piece off mine-sushi style, excellent!!! I think I'm going to grill 3/4 of my steak, so I'll cut off a 1/4 of it and have it sushi style.

Well, that was a very good feed, and I'll be doing it again soon, The tuna was exceptional and I highly recommend the sushi grade tuna over non-sushi grade. The tuna raw or med-rare really soaked up the teryaki marinade after 3 1/2 hours of being in the marinade. So, I highly recommend the sushi grade tuna for a great at home dinner for two or a nice dinner party with friends or family-Peace PD.

Just finished grilled, marinaded pork chops (herbs de provence & olive oil) with mashed potatoes and petite peas. Very satisfying!

Also found another decent bottle of wine for under $8: Echelon Pinot Noir 2004. :D

Doesn't that have some sort of berry flavor? Raspberry maybe?

Three Philosophers does NOT have any berry flavor. I avoid those types of flavors--too much like a cherry soda.

Sat. night was boneless pork chops with a light rub and Stubb's Mesquite BBQ sauce on the grill and the wife made her potato and onion casserole.

Sun. night made pot of my homemade Lobster Corn Chowder - Southwestern style. Mmmm - good stuff! Plenty of leftover for the step-sons and the rest of the week.

Really? Maybe I'm confusing it with something else or does three philosophers make some Llambic type ale?

Okay, wait, now I may be getting confused. There may be Llambic...s#@t, I can't recall--but there is not that strong (or in my mind, weak) berry flavor. I will check this out when I get home and post my findings.

I bow, most humbly, at your feet and beg forgiveness. Three Philosophers does indeed have cherry lambic.
