cliaz
For the first time since taking over for Dick Vermeil, Chiefs coach Herm Edwards admitted explicitly that the Chiefs offense will be more run-oriented. "I think we have a great offensive line, we've got a heck of a running back, and there's going to be times when we need to pound it a little bit more," he told the team's official website. "You might not see as many passes…sometimes your offense has to protect your defense. You can't always go three-and-out and put your defense back on the field. You'd like to have your defense fresh in the fourth quarter and the way they stay fresh is you collectively, offensively, control the clock." Edwards went on to back pedal a bit, suggesting that the Chiefs have to stay balanced. However, it's clear that Edwards feels that a big part of improving Kansas City's disappointing defense is controlling the clock, and you do that by running the football. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watched Edwards in New York, but it certainly doesn't hurt Larry Johnson's bid for the top overall spot in fantasy drafts. Avernus
I don't think he's watched many KC Chievs games last year... their running game is equivelant to a passing attack....one run can usually go for 20+ yds...
