cliaz
The attorney for Reuben Droughns said that the running back's wife wants charges against her husband stemming from a May 12 incident at their home dropped. "It's reflected in the police report that [Droughn's wife] didn't want the charges to be filed and she's been insistent about that," Droughn's attorney told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "We believe Mr. Droughns will be exonerated. We don't believe police conducted a thorough investigation." Droughns is facing one misdemeanor assault charge and two misdemeanor harassment charges, which could earn him six to eighteen months of striped sunshine if convicted. Then there's the possible sanctions from the NFL, which doesn't take kindly to having its players appear in a mug shot; the typical suspension is a game or two for domestic violence. Keep in mind that Reuben just beat a DUI rap—three days before the alleged domestic assault, in fact—so fantasy owners should have every confidence his legal team will have Droughns in uniform and on the field for the season opener.
