cliaz
Bears running back Cedric Benson once again got most of the first-team reps during minicamp practice on Saturday. However, that doesn't mean he's necessarily ahead of Thomas Jones. 'Everybody is in competition every single day,' running backs coach Tim Spencer told the Chicago Sun-Times. 'Obviously, there is going to be competition, and we'll see how it shakes out. The guys will get enough reps that they will be able to display what they can do.' Jones angered head coach Lovie Smith by skipping optional workouts this offseason, and this is how the 1,300-yard runner is being penalized. The Benson-Jones battle isn't going away any time soon, and both of their fantasy values will remain relatively low while this backfield remains crowded. Doc Holliday
I would not put to much into this as Briggs is running with the 2nd team too. Jones talked to the team and I think everything is good between them now.
tomfin2000
Works for me. I hope Benson runs with the first team all preseason. I'll be happy to pick up Thomas Jones in my drafts at a bargain price and stash him away on my bench, because it will only be a matter of time before he's starting and I've got a very solid RB2 to plug into my lineup when needed. Footballjoe
I got Benson on my bench waiting to take over the starting roll. I got him cheap.
