biggamer3
i am a huuuuge Giants fan, but that last game vs the panthers made me feel terrible about him. i was wonder if this, hid third yea, he will make the leap like most great QB's and become great. is Eli turning the corner or no? AquaticRay
In our scoring system which is pretty normal he was the #4 QB last season. I think he is a top QB already.
Savage Beatings
IMO absolutely he is a #1 QB. Which other 12 QB's in the league would produce better numbers making him a backup fantasy QB?

i played in a ten team league last year and he wasnt top ten in my scoring. lets see off the top of my head Peyton, carson, culps, donovan, hassselbeck,Brady are all much better then it looks like Eli falls in the next class with Vick,Brees,Bulger,Favre,Warner,Bledsoe,Plummer, Brooks,Big Ben so he is a questionable number one for fantasy Edited June 9, 2006 by biggamer3

Goopster24
No doubt he is a No. 1 quarterback for FF. I'm not a fan of drafting quarterbacks early in general but if he falls somehow, no way I am passing him up.
DMD
I have taken back everything I said about him as a rookie. Â He not only is a starting fantasy QB he should be one of the initial ones drafted.

Menudo
I would MUCH rather have Eli than Big Ben. MUCH MUCH MUCH. Â Â In fantasy football or real football. If you say real football, I might have to quit this site because the owner of it has gone . Take a look at Ben's performances against the Bengals, Colts, & Broncos to get them to the Super Bowl. Yes, the Super Bowl was a letdown, but he put the offense on his shoulders in the playoffs. Edited June 9, 2006 by Menudo

Take a look at Ben's performances against the Bengals, Colts, & Broncos to get them to the Super Bowl. Yes, the Super Bowl was a letdown, but he put the offense on his shoulders in the playoffs. Â Â This is a fantasy football forum on a fantasy football website, so chances are high I am talking in fantasy football terms. Â That all said, if I were an NFL football coach getting a QB I would have to think about which one I would want a whole lot longer than you would. Sure Roethlisberger did a great job in most of the playoffs, but as both QBs develop in separate offenses, I still might take Manning. And I am not particularly an NFL fan of either PIT or NYG, so I think I am looking at it objectively.

Well, there is a lot of NFL talk on here without regards to Fantasy impact as well, so I wasn't sure which you were referring to.  Your points about Manning vs. Ben are fair enough, as both have shown lots of ability, and Ben has definitely been on a better all-around team. However, I do think Ben answered a lot of people's doubts in that playoff run. 28-4 record and a Super Bowl ring in two seasons is quite a start. Not saying he didn't make a few plays, but, overall his worst game of the season. However, he played his 3 best games of the season to get them there. Menudo
His best play of the entire playoffs was a tackle.  Funny how fast this thread went from Eli to Ben.   Why do you make me do this ?  Cincy: 14-19, 208 Yards, 3 TD's, 0 INT's Indy: 14-24, 197 Yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT (Didn't throw a pass after an injury early in 2nd half) Den: 21-29, 275 Yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's  His tackle was the most critical, but, he made several big plays throughout the playoffs. Despite the worst QB Rating in the history of the Super Bowl for a winning QB, he finished the playoffs with a 101.7 QB rating, (it was like 148.0 before the Super Bowl) in the post-season. While Eli finished with a 35.0 rating.  I KNOW this post is going to go over well. Edited June 9, 2006 by Menudo
Clubfoothead
I'm nowhere near as high on him as the majority. Â That being said for when I draft QBs, if he's available there'll be nobody higher left on my list. I'd be thrilled to hane him on my roster. Return Of S&B
He's solid and will probably continue to improve over the next few years, especially with Plax, Tik, and Shock still there...highly doubt he'll ever get as good as Peyton though
Goopster24
Â Â I laugh everytime I see this face. Just awesome. Either way, Menudo, as good as Big Ben is, I still think most NFL GM's would still take Eli Manning. I don't know if we will ever see Big Ben be the quarterback Eli Manning has the chance to be (when I say that, I'm thinking in terms of stats and personal success, sorta like Peyton). Big Ben also doesn't need to be that on his team but it will be interesting to see how much the Steelers open up their playbook this upcoming season and in the future. Seahawks21
Eli started out last season ON FIRE, before teams realized he could only throw to Shockey and Plax. The second half of last season, he regressed, and was absolutely inept at getting the ball in the end zone from within the red zone. Decent 20 to 20, confused and slow anywhere inside. Threw up MAJOR red flags, I think some of you are overlooking his second half. I am definitely not going to touch him as early as most as he wasn't even close to startable the tail end of last season.
