Sgt. Ryan
Won the National Championship in the 100 and 400, which is extremely rare. Then anchored the win the 4x100 and 4x400 and is the only man since Jessie Owens to score 40 pts in a National Championship meet. Xavier scored 40 of LSU's 57 total pts. WOW. LSU finished 2nd to Fla St. in the meet.
Phat1
I saw him in the 400 and that guy is a smooth runner. Didn't think he'd have enough to win it in the end, but he blew past the guy from Indiana.

Coffeeman
LSU finished 2nd to Fla St. in the meet. So who did the 'Noles have?!? Wonder who their biggest point getter was - must've been a better overall team. And I was waiting for Sgt. to say this guy was transferring to OU as a WR... Sgt. Ryan
So who did the 'Noles have?!? Wonder who their biggest point getter was - must've been a better overall team. And I was waiting for Sgt. to say this guy was transferring to OU as a WR... The Noles had overall the best team. They didnt win many 1st place races that I saw, but they got 2nd or 3rd in almost everything. Im not sure Xavier will play WR much longer the way the announcers were talking. He has yet to prove he isnt just a track star playing football, instead of a football player with great track speed.
Sgt. Ryan
Carter is going pro in Track and giving up his final 2 yrs of eligibility in both football and track. http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/trackandfiel...tory?id=2494600 Updated: June 21, 2006, 2:53 PM ET LSU sprinter, WR Carter going pro in trackAssociated Press BATON ROUGE, La. -- Less than two weeks after a performance unseen since Jesse Owens, LSU sprinter and wide receiver Xavier Carter is giving up his final two seasons of college eligibility in both sports to concentrate on a professional track career and the Olympics. "I feel like I'm in the best condition of my life," Carter said Wednesday during a news conference at LSU. "I feel like I'd be better prepared from the Olympics than if I continued on with track and football." Earlier this year, Carter, the 2006 NCAA Men's Track Athlete of the Year, became the first athlete since Owens in 1936 to win four titles at an NCAA meet. He won titles in the 100 meters, 400 meters, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. He was also the first athlete in the 86-year history of the NCAA Championships to ever pull off the successful 100-400 double. Carter said he plans to donate his track equipment from that meet to the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame.
