Wolv
So I got invited into a new league this year - a 12 team redraft with $150 buy in, $2/transaction. I was clueless about the competition, at least until I got asked this question by the commish. "So who do you pick if you get #1 pick in the draft?" Almost immediately "Larry Johnson" Silence at first, then "Really?" "Yeah, really. Why? Who would you pick first?" "I'd pick Steve Smith"

Piranha
Chances are you will not get Steve Smith, or Peyton Manning in that league. However, your RBs should be stellar.
Return Of S&B
I would immediately start letting out some counter-intelligence.... "I'll be picking a kicker and defense by the 6th round" "Eli is way better than is brother Peyton" "I'll be drafting Ricky Williams just in case" "You have to draft big Ben in the first round this year"

His wife (and a few other wives) are in the league too. I was informed that she'd be pissed if anyone touched Tiki I could potentially have the 5th pick in the draft and STILL end up with LT, LJ, or SA Love the scenario, but this kind of situation is ripe for a rash of bad luck for me and one of the wives claiming the trophy! Anyway, how long before you start the smack talk on the League message board?

There's a couple of hugh Steelers fans as well. I figure Ward and Parker in Rd 2, Big Ben by Rd 5 and Miller in Rd 6.

I don't think he was playing me. No reception points. Standard 1/10 yards, 6/TD receiving/rushing

Always a possibility, but thats not the vibe I got, and I'll certainly find out come draft day. However, the only way I'd be a sucker is if I altered my draft strategy in an absurd way. Not gonna happen.
Ralph Furley
Sounds like a great league, but the title of your thread is pretty sick.
DocNiner52
Kinda like the local money league I was in. I had won the league in 2001, again in2003. 2004 draft came up and I had the last pick in the first round for winning the previous year. The guy picking 6th took QB KYLE BOLLER (obviously a Ravens fan) with his first pick I ended up winning that year too. Next year getting close to draft I get an e-mail saying the league was disbanding Such easy pickins too.

Avernus
sounds like some of the people in my local money league... ours is 160 entry fee and 5 bucks per transaction after the 5 free ones....plus all IR moves are free as well... but the pot gets pretty juicy...lol
