awoltexas
I'm drafting in the 10th and 11th positions in two leagues and am dismayed at the lack of RB talent on the back end. I have drafter from this spot every year but this is the first time I'm thinking I might be better off picking up a WR or QB as opposed to a questionable RB. Any thoughts? I'm hoping I'll get lucky and get Ronnie Brown but I'm not counting on it. Most likeley I'm looking a Dominick Davis (burned me last year) and similar injury prone and questionalble RBs. godtomsatan
You got to pick one sometime..... And to further clarify, you could pick two WR or a QB/WR, but you're still going to have to take an RB at some point. Are you better off taking a Lamont Jordon/Willis McGahee/Dominick Davis and Peyton Manning, and rolling the dice on a Thomas Jones or a Reuben Droughns in Rounds 3/4? That's always the big question. Goopster24
Ronnie dropping to you then would be amazing but I wouldn't count on it. Depending on who is left of course, I would say draft a solid running-back and a top tier wide receiver. If there are still tons of great running-backs available, then nab two. As numerous others have said, one with depth at running-back has all the trading power in the world.

I drafted 12 in January and picked SJax/Rudi and then Wayne/Javon 3 and 4.
XXXXX
Terrible year to be picking that late in the draft. Because you are getting a RB with plenty of question marks, and you're choosing probably the best WR in your mind; but its still early to be making that pick. Drafting a few picks early would defiantely be alot better because you will get a much more solid RB, and most likely the same receiver you wanted anyway. Just a bad spot to draft from in my opinion. Avernus
I have only picked in the top 5 once and I was an ameature....I took MFaulk as a steal and the rest of my team was poo.... now I pretty much get no better than the 6th pick......yet I've only had the 10th pick once and stick around 6th-8th picks pretty much every year... I'd love to draft a top RB...but it just doesn't work out like that....especially with how much better I am than the rest of my local... Seahawks21
I think late in the draft is an AWESOME place to pick this year, even though it is going to be a little hit-or-miss. You, more than most teams, have the ability to get two very good running backs, especially if someone like Ronnie Brown/Jackson/Davis falls to you. If you pick the right two, it could put your RB's right up there with the best. You'll still be just fine to get a couple WR's in the 3rd and 4th, maybe even a QB (Palmer, Hass, Brady) or another RB (R.Bush, D. McCallister,C.Taylor) if you so choose. Savage Beatings
Look at the mocks that are going on right now... it looks like the trend this year will have most if not all of the tier 1 WRs gone by the end of the 2nd round. I would not plan on getting a #1 WR in the 3rd if I were you. I'd suggest that you use one of your first two picks for a RB and the other for an excellent WR. Otherwise you will be playing catchup at one of the key positions.
Cameltosis
I agree with most of whats being said here. One of the good young RB's should slip to you. Grab whoever it is that looks best. Then grab a stud WR. Even though there are 7 or so top tier WR's this year, as is the case every year only 3 or 4 of them will be in the top 10 at the end of the year. Make sure you get the pick of the litter. Follow up next round with anouther RB or QB and a stud TE or RB. I think the late rounds are the place to be most years. Lucky Jack
I have the 10th slot in a ten team league this year...first time ever...I'm usually between 3 and 6 year in and year out (we redraw from a hat every year). Its funny I always thought the 10th spot would be fine...each year I like the draft of the guy sitting there...but now that I have it I'm not so sure...IMO the key is to start the runs, not chase them and its way to easy to chase them from this position...so I think you have to take the best available RB (CANNOT miss out on a RB) then grab one of the top three WRs...I like S.Smith, CJ and Tory this year...and would avoid Fitz and Boldin (let them drop to mid round)...grab a tier 3 RB or tow on the next pass...although I will grab a TE if one of the top three is falling...My plan now is RB,WR,RB,TE...I will target a QB at the 5/6 turn and hopefully start the second run on them at that point. Just some early thoughts...I just did a 12 man mock and had the 8 slot and used this strategy but went w/ WR in the 2nd and 3rd round as it was a PPR league...good luck
