AllThingsBillBelichick
Wondering if the Steelers can beat the Patriots? I think the Patriots are still the team to beat in the AFC. Recent history says nope?! They were denied last season during their Super Bowl Season. It would of been interesting if Pats didn't lay an egg in Denver if the Steelers would of even come close to beating the Patriots at the Razor in last years playoffs? Your thoughts -ATBB

Sgt. Ryan
nope, NE will have a better running game next yr, better passing game than Pitt, and health on defense is the only thing that ruined them last yr. Pitt will miss Bettis to give the RB position some stability, that Parker will miss when hes gone. Randle El wont be replaced as easy as one would imagine, and Ward will see double teams on virtually every play, which could make Heath Miller a top TE. I live in Pittsburgh so it might slant my perspective ------ NE's running game will only be better than Steeler's only if Duce gets hurt (so you can see that is easily possible) --- Passing game will be about equal unless Santurdio gets arrested and unless Ben suffers PostTRAUMA --- Randle El and Bus will not be missed... Heath will get better... Steeler's defense will be better than NE's

Your thoughts -ATBB the steelers were playing the best football in their recent history at the end of the season and into the playoffs.. that was a completely different steelers team than the one that lost to the pats earlier in the season and in the playoffs the previous year. they easily handled their opponents during their 8 game winning streak, most of which finished the season above .500 and/or were playoff teams. the colts were supposed to be the best team in football at the time and got outplayed for nearly the entire game. same with denver, the team that beat the pats, they were finished from the beginning vs pittsburgh. im not sure any team could have beat the steelers during their playoff run.. even the pats.. the steelers were simply on a mission and nobody was going to stop them. AllThingsBillBelichick
I believe the 2004 Steeler team was better then the Super Bowl team. They had a better record and had the number 1 rank defense. Still think the Pats are the class of the league and the Dynasty can grow even bigger this year. -ATBB

rattsass
I am a Chiefs fan so I'm not really qualified to debate about 2 such mighty God-like entities as the Steelers and Pats. I think we should change the name of the forum to Steeler v. Patriots so we can debate expressly about which of these awe inspiring franchises is the best. I'm going to give this question a good long think, and I will get back to you. I have to light the candles in my Steelers/Patriots shrine I have set up in the garage. I don't know what the world of football would do without either of these teams. Clearly, they are the Chosen ones. What's ironic is that this blather shows up consistently on a FANTASY FOOTBALL board and neither team has a fantasy player worth a crap... OK, with the exception of Brady for the Pats and Ward for the Steelers.
