Avernus
Good points and you may be right. He reminds me a little too much of a cocky QB I won't mention. that's exactly what I used to say......EXACTLY.... until I've seen him recently on NFL Total Access with Gates and I completely changed my tune on him.... I thought he was Leaf V.2....but attitude-wise....he's already put the kaibosh on that...he appears humble and is working with Gates constantly.... Leaf admits he never had the talent to play in the NFL....I HOPE the Chargers would have figured this out by now about Rivers and would have kept Brees... but I guess we'll find out...especially me if I take a late flier on him... dukdown
from a recent interview with Larry Johnson from Pro Forecast Fantasy Football PF: How much will Richardson's loss hurt you? LJ: It will hurt me a lot because now I've got to be the the focal point and leader, and usually I just follow behind him because he's been such an inspiration to me. Not only as a blocker on the field but I also feel like, not that I'm a bad seed or something, but he kept me in line as far as what he thought of what I'm doing and what I'm doing from day to day and how I can get better. I'm going to lose that because now I won't have nobody to talk to when things are going rough. I won't have nobdody to bring that out of me like Tony did. PF: In terms of on the field, do you know much about (fullback) Ronnie Cruz? Right now it looks like he's the guy. LJ: Ronnie Cruz right now is a little unproven because he still has to learn. He's almost a year behind me where he has to learn the offense. He's still a little uncertain about who he has to block, which I'm pretty sure he'll learn just like I've learned, but sometimes some of those slip-ups in the game just like I had to experience with blocking - some of those slip-ups can cost you a game, a player on your team. You don't know what, but right now we have to get Ronnie Cruz ready to play.

Avernus
Yeah I sure would hate to pick 1st and get a shot at LJ I don't want the risk of having him and then waiting to the bottom of the 2nd and missing out on great talent... I'd rather get whoever slips out of LT2, LJ and SA... and while I don't really want SA this year....he has great trading value..... I could get a stud WR and Ronnie Brown for him.. Chargerz
it's just that his wideouts are so-so unless Parker shines and McCardell does anything near what he did last year... ...AND I'm going to throw Vincent Jackson into the mix at WR. Marty and Cam really like this guy. He was injured last year, but is big and fast and looked good in mini-camp. FWIW.

The Stoner
I'll take LJ. Maybe everyone forgot about LT's disappearing act during playoff time last year. This is LJ's year. The line maybe aged but they are still some bad MF's. I watched all the Chief's games last year and this kid is a PROBLEM. Certified beast. If I'm blessed with #1 in my league, I'm taking LJ. LT # 2 and if I go 3rd, I'm just screwed because I will not draft Shaun A this year. The Madden Curse is ALIVE. And he's not gonna srew it up for me. Hat Trick
I know you guys all talk very highly of this guy and I'm sure somewhere there is already this same talk but I'll say it anyhow. Is he overvalued. In last years system he was a stud but= 1. Priest Holmes isn't totally out of the picture He will be soon. 2. No Tony Richardson Doesn't matter. 3. New coach, new coordinator, new system. (Al Saunders was the man.)Mike Scolari will run basically the same system. Honestly, with Herm at the helm they may run MORE. 4. Lines not any younger. They are still a Pro Bowl quality line. I had him last year and he was the man. If it were last years system and he was gauranteed a the bulk of the carries for sure top 2 or 3. I still have him as number one overal, but I'm still a little skeptical. Just wanted to here what you pros thought. He's my #1 overall, and that's not because I'm a Chiefs fan. This is his year to shine, and he's gonna be running hard. Yeah what CD said Edited July 11, 2006 by Hat Trick

Hat Trick
I agree with everything you had to say there cheif except for saying that the loss of T Rich wont matter. Can't tell you how important that guy was to the running game. I still think LJ is going to be a montser this year but to say lossing T Rich wont matter is crazy, especially from a homer who has watched they guy 16 games a year for a long time I think he says that based on the fact that Tony's role has diminished and his skills have also diminished, he was in line with the current system and will be missed more as a vetran leader than his skills so to speak. They needed to get younger at that position. Tony's consistentcy, toughness, knowledge of the system and leadership will be missed. CD means that LJ is a beast and will still have his best season to date because he's that good

Big Score 1
I feel like the spot opposite to McCardell is up for grabs.... Then you would be feeling wrong. Barring injury, Parker has the WR spot opposite McCardell sewn up.
