RokoMotion
Let's assume for a second that Jerry Porter's unhappiness causes him to a) get the ball less and do less with it. If that's true, doesn't that mean that Randy Moss's numbers will go up? Yes, he'll receive more attention, but isn't Randy Moss one of those few receivers who isn't greatly affected by a double team. Rather, it seems to me that Randy getting more balls = Randy getting more points.
Flip_Side
I don't think Porter's unhappiness will effect anything, even if Porter was the happiest man on Earth with the team, Moss would still get his week in, and week out.

Agreed. the fact that despite the opposite team putting 2 and 3 guys on Moss every game Porter cannot take advantage of it. Porter means nothing to the Raiders and if he never played there again the only reason they would know he is gone is because they would not hear his mouth. Doc Holliday
Dang Doc, tell us how you really feel about Porter why dontcha. It is not that I hate him. just year in and year out you hear the mouths of guys who have done nothing (Lelie,Porter for example). then you hear them talking as if they are underpaid. piratesownninjas
He will fail as long as he's in Oakland. I could see him living up to the potential with another team though...
jackshi17
Trade him for Lelie straight up---both problems solved.
Avernus
Trade him for Lelie straight up---both problems solved. and then they end up basically in the same situation again... I would love this...
Return Of S&B
He will fail as long as he's in Oakland. I could see him living up to the potential with another team though... He will fail just as long as their is a better receiver on the team. That has been his main gripe all along...that he is never the #1 go to guy. In 2001-2002 he sat behind Rice and Brown, and deservedly so, even though both of these future HOFs were in their twilight years. In 2003, when he did get a chance to be the number#1 guy, he had the hernia pull injury that pretty much ruined his season. Now he's playing second fiddle to another potential HOF wideout in Moss I can understand his frustation, but sometimes athletes have got to loose the me-first attitude and do whats best for the team. Although I doubt it, hopefully his attitude changes as the regular season arrives otherwise I can easily see Art sitting him on the bench all season. muck
I wonder if KC could get him and kick Kennison to the curb (or at least remind him that now his contract works fine because he's the 2nd WR on the team behind Porter)? Prolly not...

Prolly not... That would be interesting. Porter with KC and Kennison the #2, but Im sure they would just cut Kennison if Porter played there. Problem with Porter is his cap hit. I think its like 6.5 mil... Porter isnt going anywhere.
VikesGuy
Porter is just a plain Dumb A$$, if he was smart he would shut his mouth and play football. Moss is going to get double/tripple coverage everytime he steps on the field. All Porter has to do is beat one guy and he could put up some huge numbers. After a couple years of shadowing Moss he could leave Oak and get a number 1 position else where. Todate he hasn't proven that he can be the go to guy. Now with that said, i think defenses are starting to figure out Moss, it was starting to show in Minnesota. Don't get me wrong he still puts up good numbers but I belive he is on a downward trend. He needs to beable to go over the middle more.
