Starting 2 QB's

Not sure if this is the right forum, if not just move it. I just got talked into sharing a team with a friend. It's an 8 man redraft that starts 2 qb's, 2 rb's, 3 wr's, 1 Flex (wr/rb) 1 te, 1 k, 1 d. All td's are 6 points, 1 PPR, passing yds are 1/20yds, rushing is 1/10 and receiving is 1/20yds. 3 pt bonus at 300yds passing and 100 yds rcv/rush.

I've never been in anything smaller than a 12 man, never had to start 2 qb's (Heavy scoring pts) and never saw wr yardage at 1/20.

We have the 1st pick in the draft and have decided to go with LJ. My question is how soon do we try and fill our qb slots. With scoring definately slanted to the qb do we take 2 at our swing spot??? WR scoring seems to be slanted the other way, but you start 3 and up to 4.

I know a lot depends on who goes before us, but it seems we could get hurt if we let runs get out of hand.

Any thoughts or just general ideas on what to watch for????

i would seriously consider drafting manning 1 overall. look at your projections for manning versus your 17th ranked QB in your scoring system, then LJ versus your 17th ranked RB.

in rhino's spreadsheet thing, you're looking at manning's 4120 and 32 TDs and david carr's 2932 and 16...versus LJ's 2230 yards and 23 TDs and warrick dunn's 1527 and 7. it's going to be very close point-wise in that scoring system, and i would argue a QB has less exposure to risk from injury and underperformance.

With it only being 8 teams, I would be hesitant to jump on the need a QB real early bandwagon.

With your flex spot, you can start 3 RBs, and with that scoring, WRs have less than normal value, which isnt the highest to begin with. Granted, you don't want to get with your 15th and 16th QBs as starters, but I think I still focus on RBs early as you can start 3 with a favorable scoring system. I think heading in with a plan of RB in the first and QB/RB in the 2nd is wise due to the quicker drop off of talent at RB and the relatively flat value of QBs after the top 4-5.
