hugh article on vincent in today's union tribune. could be a great flyer in the later rounds of deep leagues.

“He's got the potential to be a top wide receiver in this league,” Philip Rivers said. “That potential is becoming reality.”

And the general manager, he sees something else, a finishing piece for that offensive puzzle, perhaps.

“He's a special player,” A.J. Smith said. “This might be a year, barring injury, that he can emerge. We need someone like him to come up and perform so we can move forward and be a championship team.”

Jackson has a vision, too. It is of the near future, where he leaps from his spot on the platform of potential.

“That's a good word and a bad word,” Jackson said, “That's an in-between word. I'm looking forward to showing it. You want to get over that 'Could-be.'

“I see limitless possibilities. I know I'm going to make plays this year. I'm a mismatch (for defensive backs). There are a lot of things I can do.”

Jackson is every bit of 6-feet-5 and 235 pounds, covers 40 yards in less than 4.5 seconds and is one underwhelming, injury-marred season into his NFL career.

So big and talented, even having done so little, Jackson is sometimes compared to Terrell Owens. Quiet, disarmingly humble, yet possessed with confidence, Jackson does not shy from the parallel. He believes he can be that kind of receiver, an uncommon combination of size and speed that makes him difficult to cover.

I had a little piece on him in my kffl post.....he's definately a sleeper WR for me and Brandon Marshall of the Broncos would be too if he didn't have Walker, Smith and Watts ahead of him...

of course he could beat out Watts...but I don't want the Broncos #3 WR on my fantasy team...

however, Jackson could easily make the #2 WR on the Chargers....of course Eric Parker is no slouch, but Jackson has a hugh frame to balance with McCardell on the other side....

this would make another decent target for Rivers to hit....since he has more size than Parker...

This message is being repeated as a public service:

Darius Watts will be no significant factor in the DEN passing game. He has a permanent disbility with nerve damage in his hand.

We now return you to your regular programming...

If you look at Jackson's tape, he is very much a T.O. type. Big, very fast and has great hands. The BIG bonus here is that he doesn't have the mouth or the ego. The kis has the swagger and you can tell want to be a go-to guy.

If Rivers performs as expected, LTs numbers could be hurt in the passing game. With Gates, Parker, KMcK and Jackson coming into his own, they may not want to expose LT to the punishment of all the swing passes of the past and keep him fresher for the later part of the season.

There is excitement in Chargerdom, finally!

:D

I agree that Vincent Jackson may be a HUGH sleeper find this year. He certainly bears watching during the preseason to see if his potential is finally being realized.
