Savage Beatings
Chester Taylor has a lock on the starting RB spot for the Vikings... still Mewelde Moore's value could be more than just a handcuff to Taylor if your league allows individuals on D/ST's to score points for you. Here is part of this morning's notes from Camp. While the performance of the offense was solid, the big news was that barring a break out performance by someone, Mewelde Moore will be the starting punt returner. "Mewelde, as of right now today, is our punt returner," said special teams coach Paul Ferraro. "He certainly did a good job and was at a high level a year ago with that. But we're working some different people back there. Darren Sharper is taking some, Travis Taylor has taken some, we have some rookies in camp that will be in the pre-season games getting an opportunity. So Mewelde is our number one guy." In addition to punt returns, Moore has been taking some kickoffs as of late.

General Itals
Not to many leagues assign ST points to individual players. What this means to me is that the Vikes still really like Moore and want to get the ball in his hands in a number of situations. I think that he could also provide significant points as a potential 3rd down back and as a starting RB in event of Chester Taylor getting injured or disappointing. Savage Beatings
FYI From Friday's T.C. Notes... The 1st team offensive line along with Chester Taylor and Tony Richardson did a great job stopping the blitz and giving Brad Johnson enough time to throw. The 2nd unit and Mewelde Moore however followed that performance by giving up three straight sacks. I've talked about it before, but poor blitz pickup may be what keeps Taylor on the field on third down. "Mewelde, he's doing a good job, but I wouldn't say a great job yet," said Bevell. "It's still a learning process for him. Where to put his eyes, who he needs to target. We're still coming along with him."
DexterDew
Min has to protect the glacier that is Brad Johnson. I forgot about the Richardson pick up... I recall that Taylors blocking and receiving skills were an asset in BALT, and read an article that BALT had a more balanced offense when he was in the game, not Lewis... Three down backs are very rare these days, if Johnson stays healthy all year, he will garner just enough respect that Taylor will not see 8 in the box. If Johnson does his Grossman impersonation, then Taylor can only hope to put up T Jones numbers... very interesting..... i'm hoping he falls to the third
MikesVikes
Herschel Walker returned kicks. But the similarities stop there.
