On a Belgian Beer Kick

Thanks to Skins introducing me to Duvel, I decided to try another Belgian Ale at dinner this evening. Had two Delirium Tremens. Big thumbs up but very expensive ($9 each for an 11.2 oz bottle) at the restaurant. Decided to pick up some beer on the way home. Went with the Duvel ($10.99 for a 4-pack), much more than I'm used to spending on beer. The Delirium was $14.99 per 4-pack :D

In any case, if you want to try a Belgian beer, both of these are excellent options.

Not from Belgium, but inspired from their beers and not half as expensive is Blue Moon's Belgium White. About $8 a sixer and very tasty and close to some of the whites I've drank from Belgium. Though to me those Trappist Monks make the best :D

Yeah, good stuff. I drink Blue Moon by the gallons.

Belgian beers rock.

Ommegang makes some good belgian style ales. I like hennipen, but I'm more of a fan of the farmhouse/tripels than I am of the darker doubles and quads. Saison DuPont is another very good belgian, Chouffe Houblon makes a good tripel too.

Enjoy

If you get to North Carolina, you must get some Pisgah Solstice. My understanding is that it is not bottled, only available in restaurants. It is outstanding.

Another good one I discovered was Victory Golden Monkey. It's actually brewed in pennsylvania.
