Bronco Billy
LINK LELIE UPDATE: The Broncos continue to entertain trade offers for disgruntled receiver Ashley Lelie, some as recent as during the weekend. One team, believed to be the Chicago Bears, has offered a fourth- round draft pick in exchange for Lelie. Shanahan and Lelie's agent, Peter Schaffer, could not be reached for comment Sunday night. Shanahan previously has said he wanted "equal value" for Lelie, and the team has been steadfast, according to several general managers in the league, that it wants a first- or second- round pick or a front-line player for Lelie. Currently, the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles are limited at receiver because of injuries. The Eagles were one of the teams to discuss a potential trade before the start of training camp, and Schaffer also is known to have approached the 49ers and Titans about a trade. One of the trade proposals to the Titans included tight end and Denver native Bo Scaife, a deal the Titans turned down. ***************************************************** And so it goes on. The tally so far (provided he doesn't show up this morning for training camp): -$154,000 fines pissed away -$ 12,000 minicap bonus pissed away -$100,000 voluntary work out bonus pissed away -------------------------- -$266,000 TOTAL pissed away money so far Nice work, genius. Wolverine
as a Bears fan, as much as people will disagree with me for saying this, I don't mind giving up a 4th rounder for Lelie. He's got talent and could just need a change of scenery. Ask anyu Cubs fan about this (Cory Patterson, among others)
whitem0nkey
-$100,000 voluntary work out bonus pissed away Is this a common thing that most players have in contracts? And how high do the amounts get?
Bronco Billy
Is this a common thing that most players have in contracts? And how high do the amounts get? I know that's the standard bonus that DEN gives to all players to work out at Dove Valley during the offseason. It is my understanding that 97% of the team had perfect attendance & received the bonus.

What is he thinking? No gold spinners for Ashlie somebody's not getting his ride pimped.... but I won't say no names... he still might make an episode on cribs, though... You don't won't to waste anything else on that mess you call a passing game. Ask anyu Cubs fan about this (Cory Patterson, among others) Held onto him in a keeper league and thank god I did what a beast. Dusty is a fool. House of Pain
If he actually stays a Bronco he pissed that $$$ away. I believe that if he is traded or released fines are wiped clean and the new team picks up the old contract sans the fines. I thought I read something about this re another player last year under the standard NFLPA ....... ?????
