Savage Beatings
With the rumors going around lately about a possible trade involving Chris Brown and Team X (fill in the blank) I wanted to hear some thoughts on him being injury prone. There's no doubt that when Chris Brown is healthy he is a very talented RB that could produce some very nice games for the FF owner that takes a chance on him... but is he worth the risk? The thing about Chris Browns injuries is that none of them seem to be real serious, but they have definitely kept him off the field a lot. 2004 - Turf Toe (which kept him out about 5 games and then lingered into the following season as well) 2005 - Concussion / Neck Stinger - Sprained Ankle Am I missing anything? It's not like he's torn an ACL or broken any bones or anything like that... so are those issues really something that we need to worry about in 2006? When was is that he messed up his shoulder? That kept him out of a few games too, didn't it?
NAUgrad
He was exactly the same throughout his entire college career at Colorado. When he did play, he was by far the best back they had and a great runner, but he was always dinged up and not able to either finish a game or play in the next game. This is why we study history gentlemen. He may be worth a pick, but certainly not as your RB1 or 2. Maybe 3, MAYBE.
Hat Trick
I think he's a great risk/reward pick. You never know when a player who has been labeled "injury prone" will finally step up and play a full season or when they might fall off the map and out of the league. I think in the situation he's in right now, he's more of a risk than a reward. I won't reach for guys like this and I will wait till I feel they are way beyond there ADP before I take a chance on them.

Are these the types of injuries that other guys would play through possilby? I'm just trying to understand this guy better... and what is keeping him off the field. Hat Trick
Were there any major injuries at Colorado?same type of stuff as what has plagued him in the NFL Is he just kind of a wuss do you think?pretty much Are these the types of injuries that other guys would play through possilby? yes, and I almost brought this up, guys like Tomlinson, Martin etc play through the injuries and only don't play when there team doesn't need them anymore for the season casue they aren't moving onto the playoffs I'm just trying to understand this guy better... and what is keeping him off the field. jetsfan
I had him in 2004 as RB2, which I certainly cannot complain about. The guy does get dinged up, but put up hugh numbers when he played. Team Rush Rush TD @Miami 100 0 Indianapolis 152 1 Jacksonville 101 1 @San Diego 55 0 @Green Bay 148 2 Houston 52 0 @Minnesota 55 0 Cincinnati 147 1 Chicago 62 0 @Jacksonville Did Not Play @Houston Did Not Play @Indianapolis 104 0 Kansas City 91 1 @Oakland Did Not Play Denver Did Not Play Detroit Did Not Play In 2005 he played in every game but the final of the season and had the miserable RBBC with Henry that never worked out. Besides that, the Titans were a train wreck last year. This season should be better with Volek under center and Chow running the show. I think Brown could be a good mid-round pick. He did have a hammy problem his rookie year, but other than that I don't think it's anything major. He's just a puss I guess, but he can produce when healthy. ElevensBoys
Let's go back even further. He played his high school ball here in the suburbs of Chicago. A real stud, but a head coach I know told me his reputation was he wasn't tough. Looks like we see a pattern throughout his days at Colorado and now with the Titans. I agree, huge up-side, but he has to stay healthy. I think he is a solid #3 RB.
Giants56
He does have upside but I find those "wussy" type players more damaging to a fantasy team than anything. Lots of questionables where you wrestle with the decision and damaging no shows when he starts and leaves early. Add in what looks like RBBC possibilities and I wouldn't want to rely on him. Doc Holliday
I would not give you Kevin Barlow for Chris Brown. nothing worse than having a player starting that you KNOW is not gonna finish the game. and that is how you HAVE to feel everytime you use Chris Brown. RokoMotion
I took chris brown last year with the expectation that I could use him until (hopefully) Priest Holmes went down and I could unleash Larry Johnson (I won the league ). Unfortunately Chris Brown absolutely sucked. He fits into the frustrating category of backs who you can't afford to NOT start, but who never perform well enough to justify starting. I hate him. Azazello1313
his problem is that he's got sort of a bruising, upright running style on not the thickest frame. so he's a legitimate continued injury risk, not just a guy who's had flukey injuries. his style has become less bruising the times i've seen him the last couple years, but still upright and still open to a lot of hits.
