jgcoach
Just turned on Serius radio and they said they had a source (reliable???) that said his injury was career ending. This is out of left field. I know the talk about the swelling of the knee and he might not be ready just yet but, career ending???

This is out of left field. I know the talk about the swelling of the knee and he might not be ready just yet but, career ending??? According to John McClain (Houston Chronicle) Maybe the performances of Lundy and Taylor will get Davis back on the field faster. He says the outside of his knee is sore. The doctors have told him that his knee will always be sore, but he's got to learn to play with the pain. We'll see how he responds. Truthfully, a back needs to get his legs in preseason, but there's no need to give a veteran like Davis a lot of work. He's trying to learn a new system, but running backs are usually instinctive, and they figure it out on their own. If Davis has mended enough - mentally as well as physically - to answer the bell in the opener against Philadelphia, the Texans should be happy. Of course, it remains to be seen how many carries he can handle and if he can put two games in a row. Link
Big Score 1
I'm fairly certain that I read (can't remember where, so no link) Dom has the same problem with his knee, that both Fualk & now Martin have. Just not a lot of cartlidge left in there. That's why it keeps swelling up on him even when only doing simple walk throughs, let alone full blown practice. LooGie
first i've ever even heard of it. This isn't recent right? its the injury that put him out a while back? I thought it was over and done with.

Especially the "I thought it was over and done with." What means this?

Maybe he's so worried about the knee and just can't deal with the pain. I guess in that case it would be career ending. Some people can deal with it, some can't. Too bad for Dom if it's true. You haven't heard of any aggrevation to his injury? Dude, have you been living in a box? That's all that's been talked about with DD for months now. Can't participate in Mini Camps. Can't handle walk throughs in OTA's. Tires to participate in TC but knee still swelling, has MRI as a result and then goes for second opinion. Now being held out of pre season and told that he'll just have to live with the pain in his knee. Even his walkthroughs are a problem for him. The first practice had his knee swelling and sore. This has been going on for some time. It's the first I've heard as career ending though. And, as stated before, it may be a combination of some pain and mental toughness. It would be nice to know for certain before a draft though. jgcoach
antowain...morency....lundy....? Lundy was impressive even though it was preseason game #1. The most impressive thing about the game was the O Line though. Zone blocking opened holes and there were no sacks to Carr.
JoJoTheWebToedBoy
My guess if it comes to that, it will be Morency.
jgcoach
My homer league only lets us draft 4 rbs. so, I have to take Houston rbs. and forget them unless something solidifies with a starter there in 2 weeks. That probably won't happen.

Lundy looked postitively superior last night. Then again, yes, it's preseason... but he looked real good. Nice burst, great vision. P.S. Yes, I'm a Lundy dynasty league owner. HUGH improvement, but it's tough to tell whether that was ALL Houston's OLine.....or a really bad KC defense.

I said this very same thing to a friend when we heard the radio. Just doesn't make much sense. But, most things in the NFL don't anymore. Yep....that was pretty impressive.....sort of....LOL. HUGH improvement, but it's tough to tell whether that was ALL Houston's OLine.....or a really bad KC defense. This is true. Houston couldn't keep Carr erect even if the "D" they were against was pitifull last year. I think my HS team could've got to Carr. DMD
Gary Kubiak comes from Denver where great backs were created from snow cone vendors and janitors, so it is no surprise that he would not feel he needs an overpaid back to make his system work. Plus his system is the old "one cut and up the field" whereas Bush is "five cuts and reverse field".
