Lee Suggs now a Jet

Strait wasn't going to make the team. There is a reason he was a surprise starter at Safety against TB. They wanted to shwocase him, but not expose his inability to cover as a CB. So, it cost the Jets nothing.

As for the people who say ridiculous stuff like "they should have traded up for Bush" all I can say is why? The Jets had no offensive line, no stable QB to rely on, and no real playmakers on offense. The LAST thing a rebuilding team needs is an RB. They addressed the O line with 2 first round picks, got a potential future QB in Clemens, and still, they get bashed by the clueless. Next year when they draft Adrian Peterson, someone will say they screwed that up too. (with one first and 2 second rounders next year, they CAN trade up for Peterson if need be).

Maybe Suggs works out. If he doesn't no loss. When healthy, he's the best RB on the roster. Can he stay healthy? This team was not going to be "saved" by any ONE player. Not an RB, not a QB. There are other holes to address as well, like a NT, and probably an ORT. Clemens needs a year to develop.

This team is being built for 2008. Funny, a Raider fan of all people would be one of the ones jumping on the Jets! :D
