jetsfan
There's no timetable for Davis to return to practice, much less play in a game. same old same old Trainer Kevin Bastin said Davis, 25, has been running on a treadmill in the pool. "But we put him on the regular treadmill Sunday, and he didn't feel any soreness," Bastin said. "That's a good sign. Promising... and, man do I feel old. Davis is 25. Davis and Antowain Smith have been giving the rookie backs their expertise. "He's been great with these kids," Kubiak said about Davis. "He's been right there for them. "You know, we've got an interesting battle going on in the backfield, and the only place to settle it is on the field." cliaz
it kills me because this guy has the talent to be a top tier running back (in a PPR league) but he can't stay healthy. I hate seeing talent sidelined like this.

Big Score 1
Camp quotes - Day 15 August 14, 2006 HoustonTexans.com (on how much work Domanick will be able to handle when he comes back) “Well, you’d like to have a lot, that’s just part of football. It’s hard to go out and play without the work. With his situation, we have to do what’s right. We want to get something out of this year. We have to do what we have to do to get him to that point, and we’re not going to hurt him in the preseason because I think he needs the extra reps. We’re going to be smart with that. If Domanick is full strength for this football team, be it in week four, week five or week six he’s going to help this football team win, so we have to be smart with that.” www.houstontexans.com Looks Kubiak is now preparing us for Dom not getting back until week 4, 5 or 6. peepinmofo
Doesn't sound good Sure it does... To those of us that were smart enough to NOT draft an injury risk like him.

The Wolf
www.houstontexans.com Looks Kubiak is now preparing us for Dom not getting back until week 4, 5 or 6. If this is the case, how far down the ladder does he drop in a draft? As for an auction, how much less do you pay for him? I gotta think he was maybe a 3rd round pick prior to this...does he slip all the way to 5 now? Does he lose 25% of his auction value? Big Score 1
sometimes i hate drafting in May If you had followed all the different Dom threads from back then, you would have been aware he was having these problems. This really isn't breaking news, just confirmation of what was suspected. When he missed all of the Mini Camps and then couldn't partake of even the walk throughs in OTA's, without his knee balloning up on him, the writing was on the wall. What's wierd is, that here at this simple message board made up of a diverse bunch fantasy football freaks, we had this figured out long before the Texans. How messed up is that? And what does it say about the Texans organization?
billay
Sounds as though the Texans listened to the Doctors who said "He can play, it's just going to cause him pain" Dominick has yet to decide if he likes the idea......

The they were hoping he could participate in OTA's. Then they were hoping he could participate in TC's. Then they were hoping he would play in their 1st pre season game. NAUgrad
What's wierd is, that here at this simple message board made up of a diverse bunch fantasy football freaks, we had this figured out long before the Texans. How messed up is that? And what does it say about the Texans organization? I don't understand why everyone is so worked up about the Texan's not picking Bush, but going Defense #1. I absolutely think they made the right decision. In the long term, I think a focus on building a strong defense is more important than a dominant offense. Mybe it's just me, but a team as bad as the Texans needs to begin to develop a tough D, and when a player like Williams comes available, you take him. I know Bush is supposed to be special, and maybe he is, but next year Peterson looks even better. Finding a decent RB is much easier than a stud DE. (Now hopefully Williams turns out to be a stud)
