TecmoBeast
Kirk Morrison is holding onto MLB still, Danny Clark is only seeing time with the #2 defense. The rookie Thomas Howard is already starting at WLB and doing a decent job. Morrison and Howard are usually the 2 LBs in the nickle package. Both of them are pretty fast, they don't shed blocks very well. Lineman push these guys back all the time. Both like to use their quicks to disrupt running plays. The defense likes to rush Howard, so far with no success, but he looks to be a guy that can get a few sacks. Howard has been covering the RBs in coverage... he made a nice trailing tackle on a Westbrook catch before he could turn upfield, just to show you his speed. This defense looks to be weak, Philly gashed them up the middle, knocking Morrison on his ass. Minnesota didn't get no runs on them though, their speed looked effective against them. But Minny drived on them methodically all the way to the goalline. Once they got there, Chester Taylor was the FB and Tony Richardson ran it in. This defense is weak, the DTs aren't holding. Morrison and Howard look to be viable IDP options, Morrison being 1a. Huff lines up close the the line of scrimmage, he should get some sacks over the season. He hasn't been effective in his blitzes or tackling so far. He's young though, I'd like to see him in space Derrick Burgess looks like a stud. He's a good tackler, not just a sack guy Littile something to chew on IDPers

Rovers
Nice report. Some thought I took Howard too soon in a rookie draft.... it sure doesn't look that way now. Unless Oakland can get that offense to do something.... anything.... Oakland D Players should be racking up FF points.
Tally
Derrick Burgess looks like a stud. He's a good tackler, not just a sack guy Didnt he lead the AFC with 16+ sacks last year? Why do you think he wont be a good source for sacks this year? The DEF should be on the field plenty again this year.

Seems like you read way too much into that.... he didn't say he won't get the sacks again, he said he is ALSO a good tackler.... overall, a positive statement. Don't understand why you would think that comment meant he won't get his sacks.
Return Of S&B
Good analysis Tecmo...and you're right, unless Oakland can fix their weak DL problem, the linebackers will be making a lot of the tackles the DTs and DEs should be getting. Also, just a rumor, but I've heard from several sources that former MLB starter Danny Clark may be out-right cut because he's no longer the starter and will be too expensive to keep around as a backup...unless he cracks the starting lineup he will be gone....he could land on another team before the season starts though.
