Scourge
Not that this news is overly relavant to most, but... WR Todd Pinkston is OUT for Thursday's preseason game against the Ravens and rumor has it that The Eagles may give him an injury settlement and let him walk. They are happy with undrafted FA Hank Baskett and are rumored to be one of two teams (Chicago) that are trying to get a deal done for Ashley Lelie. If Pinkston goes and the don't get another reciever, the depth chart would be: Brown Baskett McCants Avant Lewis If Lelie becomes and Eagle, I think G-Lewis is the odd man out. McCants is too good on special teams and Avant is still a young buck with upside. Just thought I would provide this update.. information was based on Dave Spadaro's column on Philadelphiaeagles.com and some insider knowledge in the Philadelphia media and oh the Philadelphia Eagles forums. You noticed I left Gaffney out? Well, Gaffney has looked like complete and utter garbage and it is thought that the Eagles will cut him before training camp is over. -Scourge Edited August 16, 2006 by Scourge

The Wolf
With the way Brown closed last season, I like him as a #3 receiver. Opinions?
Scourge
McNabb will have to throw the ball to someone.. Brown has looked Ok in preseason. I think he will start slow and then hit stride around week 5. Totals from the year will prove to be good #3 WR numbers for your fantasy squad in my opinion. skylive5
Don't you have to have some WR's before you can have a "WR situation"? LOL All kidding aside... with their best WR (West-broke) always having injury problems, it never fails to amaze me that McNabb gets lots of yardage out of a ragbag bunch of receivers. They really need to do something... and quick. Either that or they can expect to NOT contend for any kind of division title....let alone a WC spot. Not with everyone else in their division improving. As a fan, I have to be positive. I like Reggie Brown's upside and Baskett, as speculative as I am, has looked amazing thus far. So has McCants. But, in Reids WCO, McNabb has had success with less talent at WR than they have now. If they can get a burner like Lelie, I will feel better about the situation.. Also, anyone who has gotten to watch them in preseason. Thier 1st team defense looks nasty this year. Howard is a beast. Tough division though.. skylive5
As a fan, I have to be positive. Darn rights! That's what being a real fan is all about. Hang in there .... the heady days of losing the NFC Championship game will return rest assured. TDFFFreak
We better get Lelie into our fold soon. I'm trying to stay positive, but there are so many problems on offense for the Birds that I am starting to worry. MrTed46
I hope lelie becomes an eagle I drafted him for my dynasty a while back. I feel he has the talent...dont know what his problem is
Gonkis
I like Avant here best for the future. Next year, he dominates. Spoken like a true Wolverine fan.....
Avernus
I'm not worried...the only thing that will really stop this team is injuries... the defense will be the best it's been in the past 5 or 6 years and the OL is deep....

matt770
With the way Brown closed last season, I like him as a #3 receiver. Opinions? I also like him as a #3/4. You've got to assume McNabb's #1 WR has at least a little upside. Hopefullly there is someone competent opposite him to take off the pressure. The rest of those names don't fill me with confidence. Hank Baskett is another of these mysterious undrafted rookies.

BIG SACK
Hank Baskett....this years Anquan Boldin. Watch. Kid has big time ability and runs the same 40 time as Boldin which is the knock on him. I hate the Eagles but this kid will be good.

Boldin was a starter and a high draft pick. Baskett is/was neither. I think Baskett has talent to be a surprise but I wouldn't expect anything more than 500 yards and 4 TD's. Isn't that where Boldin started before the first game? Apparently I've missed out on something somewhere...

CD6405
Yeah, the Redskins (most racist name in pro sports history) looked really great the other night. You have a lot to look forward to this season. NOPE. Well I guess if the season plays out like the preseason, the Oakland Raiders are going to the playoffs with their 2-0 record, Pittsburgh Steelers won't be going anywhere. Alex Smith will be the next Joe Montana and Philly will be a .500 team with their plethora of WR talent. Preseason is the tell all of what a team will do, no arguing that. peepinmofo
forgive me for asking but why would you want Lelie on your team? What has he ever done in the league? Someone on Sirius was saying he's led the league in YPC the past couple years. That has to be a least decent. Im not supporting him at all, just stating thats what was said... Mike Mayock had him graded as a 4th round pick and he is pretty much everything Kiper wishes he was when it comes to being a draft expert...
