MrTed46
What is going on with the Steelers Running Game? Who is the featured back?
Blitzburgh
Parker is the man. The question is who replaces Bettis. Veron Haynes or Duce? I'm leaning tword Haynes. But fantasy wise niether one will be worth it. Parker will be your yardage man but will loose TD's to Haynes or Duce.

loaf
I read that FWParker wanted to be the goal line guy as well. don't know how that experiment is working. Staley's got the size to be the gline buster. Haynes showed he was a good 3rd down back
Gonkis
They should just let Big Ben take it up the middle when they're inside the 5. If he can take on a car and recover, he can score thru any DL.
Blitzburgh
And he's a good actor, when it comes to getting across the line. ex SUPER BOWL But hey I'll take it. Go Ben
Menudo
Here's my take: Willie Parker is the clear-cut starter, and will improve upon last year's numbers. He was getting much more involved in the passing game as the season went on and in the playoffs, and that is where he can be a gamebreaker with his speed. He needs to show more consistency with his vision and tackle-breaking skills. He always provides a home-run threat though. He is being given a chance, along with Staley and Haynes to get the goal-line carries, but, I don't think he will get a lot of them. He may however score from 10+ often enough to be a top 10 fantasy back this year, imho. On the negative side, he is taken out on 3rd down situations and is not an everydown back. Verron Haynes is the 3rd down back and is competing for the backup RB role, as well as, the goaline back. I think he wins both. He is far more talented than Staley at this point in their careers, imho. Haynes has deep sleeper value, in that if Parker gets hurt, he could be very nice. Duce Staley looked really bad in the 1st pre-season game. I like Duce and think he had a lot of talent, but, it appears all of the injuries have added up and taken their toll on him. It looked like his feet were in quicksand last weekend. My prediction, he will asked to be cut after being beat out by Haynes for the #2 position. The Steelers will go along with his wishes, if they feel good enough about Humes. Cedric Humes is having a nice camp. He isn't really in the running for anything other than taking the #3 position and making the team. He showed more speed than expected on a screen pass last Saturday. .......there is my

Hugh 0ne
Sadly, I never know when you are being serious..... Relax there Mr. Insecurity, I was being serious. While 98% of your posts annoy the living cr@p out of me, your homer insight, when not overflowing with blinding homerism and blatant man-love, is appreciated. That's a compliment, kind of. Doc Holliday
I don't think they are sold on Parker. if they were you would not be hearing about them in the running for Duckett. I expect a platoon situation with Parker still getting the better end of the teams Rushing stats.
Menudo
I don't think they are sold on Parker. if they were you would not be hearing about them in the running for Duckett. I expect a platoon situation with Parker still getting the better end of the teams Rushing stats. I don't believe this to be true at all. The Steelers have always had a #1 back and then someone who is a change of pace. I don't think it has anything to do with not being sold on Parker. As far as Duckett, they wouldn't go any further than a 4th rounder for him. The Falcons wanted a 3rd rounder (next year) for him and the Steelers passed. Duckett would have solved the goal-line / #2 RB problem, which is what they are unsure of. I think they are confident in Parker's abilities, but, also know how important it is to have as many solid backs as possible on your roster, especially when your starter is going into what is essentially his 2nd year.
