Duckett and Dunn

The huddle reported that Duckett could be traded to the Jets.

If a trade were to happen, do you think this raises either Dunn or Ducketts value?

I already traded away Duckett and I may be trading Dunn shortly.

Just wondering if I should raise the stakes if this happens.

I think Duckett going to NYJ would help Dunn more than Duckett. The Jets stink, and I don't think Mangini's going to be able to fix anything, so Duckett's not going to be able to do great down there. But the prospect of Dunn only having Vick vulturing goal line carries is extremely tempting...

I agree but would Dunn then be getting goal line touches??

Assuming that Duckett is a featured back in NY, it'll help both. Duckett's only averaged about 110 carries over the past two seasons in ATL and almost all of his value comes from vulturing goal-line carries. If he gets 250 carries, Duckett will probably be worth 800 yds and 6-7 TDs. Pretty good for a #3. And assuming that Dunn can stay healthy, he'd be good for well over 1,000 yds and probably 10 TDs in ATL.

This would really help Jerious Norwood.

hellloooo Norwood!

That's exactly what I was thinking. We have our rookie draft coming up in about 1 week and now more than ever I'm hoping Norwood falls to me at 1.08.

The trade of Duckett improves Duckett's value, improves Norwood's value and does nothing to Dunn's value.

Duckett will get the opportunity to get much more PT with the Jets.

Norwood will get the goal line carries in ATL

Dunn's role doesn't change

From what I've heard about Norwood, he doesn't sound like a goal line back. I think Dunn's value goes up. He is an underrated short yardage back due to his size. If Duckett is traded, I see Dunn cracking the top 10.

I just don't see Duckett doing great as a featured back. That being said, the fact that the Jets keep pursuing a trade shows that they have absolutely no faith in their other backs, so obviously just by being a starting RB, Duckett's value goes up.

Dunn would probably stay the same. He get his yards and some receptions, but his TDs will likely continue to be long, not goalline.

Agreed for the most part. Houston is average size (6'0", 215) but Blaylock is much smaller and I'm assuming that he'd be a 3rd-down back. It'd be RBBC to a certain extent, but I could see Duckett getting about 180-200 carries and Houston getting about 100-130.

FWIW, the Steelers are also reportedly interested in Duckett, presumably to replace Bettis at the goal line.
