QBs Are Doing Nothing For Me

i got about ten days until my 12 team redraft money league, and I am having a hard time in the QB world.

Peyton is alone in Tier 1, and I would consider him around 1.09 on.

TIER 2

Brady had a dead arm and no one to throw to.

Palmer has someone to throw to, but is on one good pin

Eli had a poor second half, and can Buress be on good behavior two years in a row

Hass has a dinged Jackson and a soft schedule, which means lots of 4th quarter runs

Bledsoe is getting up there and we don't know if TO will play the full season

Bulger has a new system and is coming off surgery

McNabb has no number 1 WR and is coming of surgery

Green has no Roaf, and he and his supporting cast are aging

Warner is aging and has no OL, so it is chuck and duck time (which i like for half the year until he gets hurt)

Vick fixes on Crumpler and has no accuracy or WR1

Favre should not be on the 2nd Tier with that OL

TIER 3

Delhomme is at least healthy, has a good OL, and some weapons. I like him as a QB1

Plummer- I have no idea what to think about him

Brooks- has an arm and some weapons, but no OL, and he is pretty awful

Carr- New system, a couple of weapons. Curious

Leftwich- can't stay healthy, has no #1 WR, no run game to keep opposing DEF honest

McNair- at least he has a couple of decent targets, if he can stay healthy, could be top 10

Rivers- i like this kid, especially down here. I wish there was a WR 1

Roethlisberger- looks like he is healthy, and has a couple of options. Need a WR2 to step up...

Kitna- just show me something in a game and I will drink the Kool-Aid

Frye-No

Brees-tough schedule, but those dump offs to Bush during garbage time are intriguing

Simms-Galloway can't be that good and Clayton can't be that bad. Interesting...

Tier 4

Culpepper-curious, but only as a back up

Johnson-Lost his drunk WR1, and that can't be good. Maybe Childress can remember how he planned when TO was MIA

Loosman-H*LL No

Brunell- still don't know how he did it last year, can't do it again

A Smith- he has to throw a lot

Volek- he has to throw a lot

After all this, I am looking at skipping on the QBs until late, and pciking up Jake Dehlomme and pairing him with a Rivers/Roth/Kitna ... unless Peyton falls.

I'd agree with your reasoning.

In an 18 team survivor league that is currently drafting, I went with Delhomme and Rivers earlier today.

Not late in the draft due to the amount of teams (36 QBs means someone will be betting on a back-up).

Barring injury, both will be the team's starter all year. This is essential for survivor leagues. You don't want to be the owner that has Brooks/Warner as your QB pair.

Good topic, I'm in the same predicament. I never draft Qb's early, I wait late in the draft, so there's no way I'll get a Brady, or either Manning. I would like to see what some of the veteran members on here say about this.

If you don't get Peyton in the first round, wait until the 5th or 6th to select a qb. But follow it up with another qb right away. You should be solid if you get two of the top 15 qb's. The running backs and receivers are junk in the 5th to 7th rounds, so you might as well take two qb's in these rounds. qb is way too big of a producer to disregard entirely. And don't forget about Warner. He is sure to produce top 5 stats as long as he is healthy. I wouldn't be upset at all if I ended up with Kitna and Warner.

real good post :D

thanks for the responses!

the last couple of years, the top 4-6 QBs fly off the board by the third round (TDs are worth 6 points, plus bonus for distance, just like position players, so they do score more points), but with all the questions that i ennumerated before, i would rather upgrade at another position.

and i do think Warner is worth a shot with his weapons and schedule, i just need to pair him someone who will most likely be healthy all year, or someone who is new to a system that will take time to get comfortable (McNair, Kitna, Rivers, Brees or Culpepper).

thanks!
