matt770
Anyone see this? Aug 17 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the New Orleans Saints are looking to acquire San Diego Chargers LB Donnie Edwards. The team is offering a second-day draft pick. Sgt. Ryan
that was old news, but still may go down.
rajncajn
Chargers are still holding out for a 1st day pick but the saints aren't willing to go higher than a 4th. Shefter also said that the saints can use either beerman or bethel as trade bait since the chargers lost their returner for the season. A good possibility IMO since the Saints have a lot of depth at the position.
Footballjoe
Who will step in for Edwards?
rajncajn
Who will step in for Edwards? Matt Wilhelm is slated to start for him Saturday, but Stephen Cooper looks like he could challenge and has even been mentioned as gaining ground on Godfrey's position. rajncajn
How's the rookie Tim Dobbins looking? I've read he's playing very well, but isn't expected to make a push for a starting position until next season. If both Godfrey & Edwards are gone next year Cooper, Wilhelm & Dobbins will fight it out for the two spots. Likely with Cooper & Dobbins getting the start. To be honest I'm not real up on any of the three so it could go either way. There's also no gaurantee both Godfrey & Edwards will be gone. Right now, unless you're in a deep league, it only bears keeping an eye on. Even if Edwards is traded this year SD could just end up platooning their ILBs. I drafted Dobbins in a Dynasty and will keep him on the DTS this season and maybe next unless someone much better comes along.
