piratesownninjas
Really, how much of an upgrade is Duckett over Houston, or Washington? I have never been that impressed in Duckett, so I find it difficult to beleive that they would give up something of value for him. I think the Falcons are thinking playoffs, so they won't get rid of there goalline back. Same thing with Turner. No strong teams are going to be trading away their no.2 runningback. gogo2146
I hope duckett stays right with the falcons I took a late flyer on Houston and Blaylock .
satelliteoflovegm
If he does go to the Jets, then move Jerious Norwood onto your sleeper lists. He has good size for the goalline. We all know Dunn lost carries to Duckett.

IMHO....I think Duckett could be a beast playing in the right system, like say Pitt or maybe even the Jets. I just don't think the the Mike Vick show is the right system to feature a big bruising back, which is why Dunn does so well in Atlanta. kerwin8
Duckett is a very talented player who is definitely in the wrong system... but that isn't to say that he doesnt help the Falcons. Without him, the birds are left with Justin Griffith as the goal line back... and, while Griffith isn't horrible, the goal line back for the Falcons needs to be able to get into the end zone on his own power, because the O-Line certainly won't help... Anyhow, I would hate to see Duckett leave the Falcons. He is most definitely an upgrade over Cedric Houston. Duckett, admittedly, sucked last year for whatever reason (unmotivated, poor work ethic, whatever...), but he's in top shape this year, and so far this year he's been more like the '03/'04 TJ than the '05 TJ. If he does get traded, I hope the Falcons get at least a 2nd round pick out of it. I really hope it's all rumors, though. It looks like we have a lot of pieces in place to run deep into the playoffs this year, and losing Duckett wouldn't help too much. That being said... here's your AF news blurb: Falcons | Team has no interest in trading Duckett Thu, 17 Aug 2006 23:08:24 -0700 The Associated Press reports the Atlanta Falcons have no interest in trading RB T.J. Duckett. Reports that the New York Jets were looking to acquire Duckett are "speculatory," according to Falcons spokesman Reggie Roberts. "We are aware of the speculatory reports coming out of New York. Quite frankly there has been a tremendous amount of speculation regarding other Falcons players in recent months, and our organization does not believe it is appropriate to comment on that speculation." It's possibly just a move to raise his value for trading, but who knows. It should also be noted that the Falcons FO doesn't think too highly of the Jets organization after the John Abraham trade. Evidently, the Jets didn't handle any of it very professionally, and were very frustrating to deal with. I can see that affecting any future trades at least a little bit. satelliteoflovegm
Yes he is about 203, I was comparing him to Dunn at 180.
Big Score 1
Where exactly are you getting this? Is this documented somewhere or is this your opinion? I've heard it hear too. The "hear" being Atlanta. When the trade finally went through, word was McKay was none to happy about dealing with the Jets. They've got a fairly fresh FO, so maybe it's just a learning curve for them.
CD6405
I was just at Jets camp and I overheard Chad Pennington on the phone with Curtis Martin. Martin had been calling around and said he had talked with Arthur Blank. Blank said they would trade Vick and Duckett to the Jets, but they would not take Pennington in a package deal. Blank's quote was "Why would we want Pennington he's done even LESS than Vick."

We all know Dunn lost carries to Duckett. Um, I thought that Duckett was the one potentially going to the Jets, not Dunn. Duckett is about 250 and has been a short-yardage specialist for years, so I don't foresee Norwood stealing carries at the goal line. whomper
Duckett to the Jets would be a nice fantasy upgrade to duckett and Dunn IMO..I would absolutley love to see Duckett go to the jets..
Vet
I heard the Jets might be talking to New Orleans about a deal involving Duece McAllister.
Avernus
I heard the Jets might be talking to New Orleans about a deal involving Duece McAllister. no clue why...but I can picture him a Jet... unless you were making this up...this would shake the very grounds of Bush's fantasy value... I have no idea where I'd rank him..

I have no idea where I'd rank him.. I'm not making it up. I'm pretty sure the Jets have inquired about him, but I'm not sure what it would take to get it done and what the cap implications for each team would be. The speculation was that it would be for draft picks, probably contingent on performance. The Jets have 2 second round picks next year, so they would probably part with one of those and then either a 1st or a 2nd in 2008. Duece has a big contract ( I want to say 5 years $50 million?), but from what I heard it is structured in such a way that the Saints could possibly deal him and stay under the cap this year. And obviously he'd be completely off their cap numbers for next year - so it makes sense for them financially. Just a matter of agreeing on adequate compensation. We all know Dunn lost carries to Duckett. He's already there. I like the looks of this kid and Dunn isn't getting any younger. DJ will forever be relegated to CoP duty. He's not an every down kind of back. Norwood has serious potential.

I wonder if Bush would be a top 10 back if he were the clear-cut starter....
