This guy turnin the league upside down yet or what? Top picks go generally to bad teams. Early he will probably have to block. Like DMD said check back. The guy has incredible potential. Fast, very strong, very athletic.
MustOfBeenDrunk
he will do well out of the gate but if Eric is healthy enough to play SF will use a lot of 2 TE sets and split up the action
Jimmy Neutron
Tony Scheffler 4 73 1TD I'm liking this kid a lot. I'm not drafting him this year, but keeping an eye on his progress. Most of his preseason catches have come against 2nd team defenses with Cutler throwing to him. Those two have great chemistry. If Cutler takes over next year and Scheffler develops nicely this year, look out in '07!
Return Of S&B
It will take some time for him to adjust, and it will take some time for Norv (SF off coord) to figure out to use him....I suspect he'll emerge sometime during the middle of the season. The guy definitely has the physical tools to succeed at the position...
TecmoBeast
Got to see a little of him in the Oakland match. He was doing a lot of blocking and I must say that he's pretty good at it. His blocking is so good that SF used him in the backfield as a pass protector on third-n-long, that lineup can yield him some easy dumpoff passes. The blocking is negative to his fantasy value, but that kind of play keeps him on the field a lot more. He's not always blocking though. He hauled in a 5 yd pass lined up as a WR to the far right. He's fast enough off the line to push a DB back, this particular DB was Huff I think, would like to see him do that to a corner, I think he could.. he's that fast off the line. He would of had a 15-yd gain if Alex Smith put it on the money, LBs are no match for him. He was lined up off the line on a few occations for a clean release, ala Gates or Gonzo. He didn't seem to be much of a target in this worthless preseason match, saw a little miscommunication on a few occations with Alex Smith. But the big-time talent is there for sure, he just might be asked to block a bit too much this first season.
