Duchess Jack
How do you see the whole Branch thing panning out?
nhoops
I keep on hearing Rumors that they are getting close to a deal He has a new agent who is the driving force behind this I believe. He see's what Givens, Wayne, and Randal El got and thinks he deserves better and a number 1. But he signed a contract. NE has made a point of not giving into players demands and paying them less but offering a chance to win the SB. They also don't work on deals early, except in the case of Brady an Seymour and Branch has got to realize that he is no Seymour or Brady. I don't see the Pats increasing there offer to get closer to Branches demands. I do see them increasing it slightly and restructuring how the signing bonus is laid out (was more end heavy) PLUS not charging him the $14,000/day he is missing as that is adding up. He might miss a game or 2. If Branch still doesn't agree with the new terms he's being stuping and the Pats will let him sit and charge him the fine. Clear as mud right? PatsFanCT
If he's not there week #1 ready to play, he'll never wear a Pats uni again. If he continues his holdout, putting himself above the team thinking he'll come back week #10, he'll spend the rest of the season on the pine. Then good luck getting anything near what the Pats were offering next year. Personally, I think he knows he has no leverage and will be there on Sept. 10th ready to play. Shakenbake
Damn I should have just posted this here: BREAKING SPORTS NEWS: The New England Patriots have given Deion Branch permission to seek a trade and negotiate a contract with other clubs. This permission will extend until September 1, 2006, according to a statement released by the Patriots. --Developing LINK

He deserves it, and dammit, he's worth it to them.
Finger
the brass is basically telling him you have over valued yourself, let's see what the market bears. I think they will end up signing him for around 3 years $20M. There will be no trade.
AZZURRI
DB would be really stupid to leave the Pats. He's been a great player but I believe a large part of his success is being on the best team of this era and--more importantly--his rapport w/Brady. He's not like TO, Randy Moss or Chad Johnson--guys who will be a number one and put up big numbers wherever they go. That's why he won't get top-echelon money. I think he'll eventually come back b/c he's overestimated his market value. No one will give up a first rounder for him. He'll realize that he's better off being the man in New England.
