twiley
Oxymoron? Not really, it just means they took the skins out before fermentation. It's like having a white port or a white pinot noir.

twiley
I really enjoy white Burgandy or however you spell it I enjoy white burgundy, it's a change of pace to the chardonnay and offers more depth in the fruits and minerals and lacks that abundant oak flavor so commonly found in chardonnays. Uh I mean, taste pretty good to me.
Pope Flick
I once had a 'white port' in Ireland that was quite tasty....

Drank a litre or two on Saturday night. Tasted pretty good and it was only Sutter Home.

twiley
I like it because it's a dry white wine... Yeah, you'll get more mineral which I really like. I would recommend a Sancerre as well.

twiley
i have one sitting on my rack which has been calling my name............... prager If for some reason you find it not that appealing, I mix up a nice little summer concoction that is half white port/half sparkling water mixed berry flavor. Add some ice, shake, serve in a tall glass with more ice. You'll have to play around with the waters to find the right one. I use a local sparkling water that has just the right amount of fruit in it and doesn't make it overly sweet while still bringing out the characteristics of the port. Edit: I guess it would be considered a port spritzer. Edited August 31, 2006 by twiley
