Local leagues vs. BoTH leagues

I just finished a local league draft tonight and I will spare you the "rate my draft". I know I drafted a good team because drafting in BoTH leagues prepares you for it. I can't believe some of the players that are taken at different points in a draft. I don't have this stuff figured out by any stretch but paying attention to the stuff on this site puts the uninformed at a serious disadvantage.

Agreed. this message board as well as the leagues that go along with it is gold to a regular fantasy footballer.

Completely agreed. I think I see that effect even a little more because of being in 32 Homers (massive 32 team league, check it out). It's always my first draft of the year, in early Aug because it takes so long to finish. When it starts, I'm usually in full baseball mode, but that draft forces me to do some serious research - especially in the later rounds when we start drafting guys who get cut before camp ends - and it prepares me very well for my local leagues. And hey, winning 32H last year? That was a nice bonus too. :D

Agree. We get a lot of newbs that come in here guns a-blazing because of the team they were able to draft because of their superior FF acumen. I usually invite them to join a BOTH league, because that'll shut 'em up quick, fast, and in a hurry.
