MrTed46
First: Is Jabar Gafney making the team on the Eagles? Last I heard from a fellow huddler he was on the vurge of being cut. Did he improve at all? I kinda liked him in Houston...
ebartender
From what it sounds like here in Philly, he will probably make the team but may not get much PT. I think Greg Lewis and maybe Pinkston are the odd men out, especially with the addition of Stallworth. If Gaffney does make the team he will be the #4 starter behind Brown, Stallworth, and Baskett IMO.
i_am_the_swammi
From what I have read and heard, the players making the team for sure are Reggie Brown, Stallworth, & Baskett. Gaffney, Greg Lewis and Darnerian McCants are vying for the 4th & 5th spots, with a slight advantage to McCants due to his ability to play special teams. Greg Lewis was all but gone prior to last week's game, but his 91-yard/1 TD effort puts him back on the bubble. Gaffney is the better "slot" WR of the three, so it will come down to whether Andy Reid feels he has enough depth on special tems to cut McCants. IMO, Pinkston will most likely be placed on the PUP list, and Greg Lewis will be cut. Edited August 29, 2006 by i_am_the_swammi
NSab
Gaffney hasn't done anything, he can't grasp the playbook, doesn't look good for him at all.

I've also heard that McCants is pretty much a lock because he's a decent widout and exceptional on special teams...

Avernus
stay farrrrr away. he is wretched. he has minimal fantasy value... if he stays, it will look like this Brown Stallworth Baskett Avant Gaffney McCants

i_am_the_swammi
Avant will make it. Yes, he'll make the team, but he most likely will be placed on the practice squad as a rookie....no way Reid activates 2 rookie WRs every week with Brown, Stallworth, and two of McCants/Lewis/Gaffney/Pinkston on board.
