Wally
I know preseason stats don't mean much, but is there a shot that TJ Housmandzadeh outproduces Chad Johsnon this year? It seemed that Palmer looked to him as a first option a lot last year, and after Monday night, I'm starting to worry about CJ getting the ball as much. Plus CJ will be drawing CB1s and double coverages all year. I kept CJ this year, so I'm sure I'm just overthinking this whole thing. But I wanted to get some other inputs before I go to my auction on Sunday, in which TJ is available. Last years stats for both: CJ 97 catches 1432 yards 9 tds TJ 78 catches 956 yards 8 total tds (7 rec, 1 ruch) Its also possible that I just want Chad to get a haircut, and am looking for reasons to lady dog about him. Thanks in advance for any responses.
Gros Membres!
I've been thinking the same thing but I can remember times last year when TJ would have a solid game (100 yds. and a TD) and Chad would also catch a few balls and maybe score. I think it's nice to put on tape in the preseason that the #2 guy can score and make plays against an average (okay, below average) secondary. Keeps defenses honest and makes a coordinator think twice about who's covering Housh. I have no doubt that Johnson will get the ball this year. But if he doesn't, we're both screwed. The Irish Doggy
TJ certainly looks good - trim and fast - this year. Perhaps going into the prime of his career, but CJ is still the #1 receiver. He's the one defenses really plan to stop.
Menudo
The Bengals offense is absolutely explosive and I think they will improve upon last year offensively. There is plenty to go around for both CJ and TJ, but, no worries, Chad Johnson will still be the #1 man. I expect his numbers to be similar, and Housh's numbers to go up slightly. What it all means is that if you were able to get Carson a little later because of injury concerns, I think you will make out like a bandit. policyvote
I think this will be a Moulds/Price or Irvin/Harper situation, where the offense is so high-flying, and the #1 is so superlative, that even though the #2 puts up big numbers against single coverage (and occasionally outscores the #1), the #1 will still score the most. CJ and Carson are just too good to hold down. Peace policy
Wally
My mind is at rest. Thank you all. But he still needs a haircut.
Bill Swerski
I doubt that Housh will out-produce CJ, but he could cut into his numbers somewhat.
