Pinkston agrees with Vikings

Travis Taylor, Marcus Robinson, Troy Williamson and Todd Pinkston.

Not exactly Randy Moss, Cris Carter and Jake Reed.

I see no fantasy value for Pinkston except that he may further

diminish the fantasy value of the other 3.

And with Jermaine Wiggins and Chester Taylor both likely to

get a good number of catches I don't see a ton of value.

Best guess, Taylor is the most consistent bet to put up 50-60

yards with an occassional TD. Good bye week filler.

Robinson will have at least one 2-3 TD game followed up

by a 1 catch, 3 yard game. Williamson is the big play guy

but I'm not sure if he'll hit enough to have big value but he

definitely has the most upside.

Todd Pinkston is the most likely to have a fan rush onto the

field and force feed him a cheeseburger.

If true, this has little impact on Pinkston as a viable fantasy WR in my opinion. He'll still be behind Taylor and Williamson, and probably Marcus Robinson as well. He never showed much playing in Philly, and I seriously doubt he'll show much here. My thoughts on this signing can be summed up in one word.

Meh.

Pinkston stinks or did we not all come to realize that when Carolina beat Philly in the NFC Title game a couple years ago.

He is, at best, #4 on the charts...they brought him in because he knows (sometimes) the offense Childress runs and has very good (going straight) speed and shows (virtually no) toughness as a football player.

If you draft this man, you stink.

With all the Vikings stars abandonding ship (ie the love boat) the last couple years, I've been struggling to figure out who's jersey I should buy to replace my old ones (Moss, Culpepper, Bennett). With this signing, my choice is clear. A Purple Todd Pinkston jersey? Sweet! :D

You're clearly distraught and borderline suicidal. Sit down, my friend. We are all here for you. But you must help us to help you. F the Queens..jump on the Panther bandwagon...It's gonna be alright. there there.

Are you kidding? Adversity builds character. Do you realize just how much damn character we Vikings fans have learned to embrace? :D

he actually provides something that none of the other Minny wideouts have...

he's tall and speedy....if they run him out there as the 4th WR, he can be very productive...

yet, he has even less fantasy value in Minny than he did in Philly...

From the Pro Football Reference website:

Pinkston is 6' 2" and weighs 169 pounds ( :D cripes, he weighs less than I do, and I'm 6')

Williamson is 6' 2" and weighs 195.

I'm just guessing based on what I know having watched both receivers play, Williamson is faster. If the Vikes were going to bring in anyone who could possibly help them at WR, Charles Rogers would now be the one to take a chance on.

Agree about his Pinkston's fantasy value though.

This had no fantasy impact as Pinkston was not a fantasy option with the Eagles, and coming off an injury, and with a quarterback past his prime, there isn't much of an argument he ever will be.

Still, I disagree that he's not a useful player. He stretches the field. He does have one play, essentially, which is a straight ahead fly route, catch over the shoulder. But it works. Troy Williamson has this kind of potential, they brought him in to be Randy Moss and beat everyone deep but he has only shown flashes. Pinkston, if anything, might help Williamson develop, or since this is mostly a matter of pure speed, at least push him.

Here is the real question, as an Eagles fan, maybe some of you are Vikings fan and I want to know if you're angry yet ? What is Childress doing? It seems like he's still tied to the Eagles' apron. Let's see he traded with the Eagles for a bust prospect, giving up a UDRF who show potential in the process. Then he tried to get Aj Feeley back, only to be outbid by the Eagles. Now he just picked up a cast off from the team. I know he wants to instill the same system but he has to remember the Eagles are in the same conference. What's going on?

Ahhhhh, Why does everyone always say Troy Williamson is only a deep threat there to replace Randy Moss?

If anyone would have seen him play in college he was in a conservative offense where all his yards were on short plays! it was his YAC that got him TDs, not bombs!

the kicker is...Williamson is more like 6'1" and Pinky is 6'2"....he's a speedy twig...

More from KFAN on Thursday's practice:

A lot of people will confuse this with my preference of practice squad WR Jason Carter, but Pinkston just does not look right out there. He's not limping around, but he is very tentative in and out of his breaks, he looks awkward catching the ball and I counted three balls in the 15 minutes we watched them work that he flat dropped. He tends to body catch and doesn't show very good hands. From what I can see his only real asset is his straight line speed.
