What was Parcells Thinking, and is Vandy Hurt?

Was Parcells saying to himself, ok.........let's kick the field goal and see if my kicker can kick, while at the same time, get some more work on offense and defense. Juggling the two thoughts of;

what if one these kids gets broke in overtime which we shouldn't be in anyway?

together with,

saying to himself "this might be just the opportunity to see who's going to gas out on me in crunch time and who's going to step up and make some plays to win"?

I get the feeling he chose the latter, as he mentioned he thought his second team got tired in the second half of last weeks game! So did Parcels roll the dice and risk injury to see what his youngsters would do when the game was on the line. Basically saying to the players "if you got tired in the last game, I am darn sure gonna see who dogs it on me in this conditioning drill. As it turns out both teams got the benefit without the harm as a result of Parcells decision.

So what did he find out? I think this team is tough. I like that. :D

As to the second question, is Vandy hurt? Well if he isn't, he better start kicking those 100 balls a day like he said in his press conference, and start making 87% PLUS of them. After all we signed the guy that was touted for his kicking percentage and what do we get for our money?

A figgin exact rewind of last years tapes. Miss after Miss after Miss. The man should not miss two..not one but two, game winning kicks from 32 yards in any game. The jack in Mike's name better not stand for Jack-Legged like the kickers of the last few seasons. I just couldn't bare it.

So let's say he's hurt, and in time, gets back to his automatic ways. Then we have to keep Sazham and cut a guy like Hurd or Rector as a result. After what Hurd did in YAK, and Rector did in hands and foot work, it would be a tough call. I like the kids, both of them.

OK who was out of gas?

Hurd and Rector looked like they could run all night. I saw some knuckle-draggin on the Vikings sideline and they were flat out busted on the D line. Our offensive line was plowing the road for two full extended quarters and every time someone was dinged up, and coming off the field, it was a Viking player. Thompson and Barber were brusing as they hit it up in there. As for Jones......well he looked like he was getting his butt pad handed to him.

All in all, I thought it was great. The boys got a "Dose Pack" as Parcells puts it. It was good to see them get a little battle tested just before the epic journey for the grand prize gets started in just under 7 days.

Let the games begin. I thinks its time to join the party this year Boys.

Wow, read a little rough for me too guys. The night after pre-draft festivities, was not a good night to come home and write. Sorry guys but I'm sure you understand. :D

Mickey, a beat writer for the Cowboys, sums everything I wanted to say up in two sentences.

"The idea was not to win the game as much as it was to expose some of his players to the pressure of overtime, including the kicker who hasn't been kicking much. This was just another of Parcells' tests which go on during training camp and preseason."

Well that was a great Preseason and now it's for all the marbles. I love this game.

Drafts Monday and Tuesday nights, then 1 day and a wake-up and it's on. Full speed. :D

Oh it doesn't matter.

The cowboys are terrible and lame. In fact they are ghey too. The Redskins are the best NFL team in the history of history. thousands and thousands of years ago when football was invented in Atlantis the Redskins came in and sweep their 100 team league 400 years in a row taking home 400 Super Duper Bowl Trophies. That's why Atlantis sunk into the ocean. Face it, the NFC East belongs to the Skins, The NFC Title game belongs to the skins and the Super Bowl belongs to the skins. Learn it. Live it. Love it. Worship it.
