spain
I have a $20 bet with Rovers on the Titans/Jets game and a $20 bet with Easy and Dirty. This game will be an epic clash of argueably 2 of the best teams ever assembled. I will be collecting $40 from both of these gentlemen next week. Rovers
Corrections: This game will suck. Jets, 13-6. You will need my mailing address. A check will be fine, as long as it doesn't bounce, like yer backyard livestock does.

Rovers
Ok. $20 straight up, Titans vs Jets. This is like taking candy from a baby. As if Tennessee state law allows you within three miles of a baby.

Easy n Dirty
Here's hoping spain's other gambling endeavors in Vegas this weekend went better than this one. Only reason it was close is because our kicker tried to give this one away. Titans were owned. Kerry Collins
spain
Congratulations to the Jets on their victory over the Titans. That was a big road win for a team with a new coach and new system. I didnt get to see any of the game since I was traveling home from my Vegas WCOFF trip but have it Tivo'ed and will watch it tonight. I have heard the horror stories. This loss reminds me alot of the Titans Superbowl loss to the Rams. In that game, the Rams jumped out to a 16-0 then the Titans came back and tied it up. The Rams threw a long pass to take the lead 23-16 and the Titans were stopped just short of scoring to tie it as the game ended. That sounds eerily similar to the way the Jets beat Tennessee yesterday. The problem for the Titans now is that the next 5 weeks of the schedule is absolutely brutal: @San Diego @Miami Dallas @Indy @Washington The Titans could easily start this season 0-6 going into their bye and take a commanding lead in the Adrian Peterson Sweepstakes. Good luck to the Jets the rest of the way. I still dont think they will be very good, but an early season road win like this could go a long way in helping this team right the ship... I actually recommended the Jets this week in my betting group. I had the Steelers, Jets and have the Chargers tonight. It probably will be the only game this year where I recommend the Jets (and I am far from a pro handicapper). But as a very objective fan of the Jets and further validated by being "right" about yesterdays game here are my thoughts: 1. The offensive line is still a work in progress but D'Brick and Mangold will be All Pros very soon. Remember, the Jets woes last season were a direct result of a horrendous offensive line and lack of decent QB play. The O Line is good enough to keep them in games and might be a damn good unit as the season progresses. 2. A healthy Chad means that the QB play will be solid. And he is capable of winning games. 3. The WRs are not flashy but are a capable bunch. Cotchery has great hands and runs great routes. Same with Coles. These guys arent game breakers but both very capable possession types. Brad Smith will factor more and more as the season goes on. 4. The RBs still stink. Well, thats just the way it is. 5. The defense can make plays and is pretty damn good. So what you have is a squad that will beat the bad teams, win some games against mediocre teams but wont beat any good teams except in the most exceptional of circumstances. Looking at the schedule (and this assumes Chad stays healthy because we know Ramsey stinks and Clemens is a rook) that means anything from 6-10 in a worst case scenario to 9-7 in the best of situations. If I had to bet I would say 7-9 or even 8-8. The non-conf schedule is actually pretty good and if they can win a few road games against the Packers and Cleveland, they have a shot at 9-7. But this team is a DT, WR and RB away from any kind of contender. I think Clemens will be a very QB in this league eventually and Chad has shown that he can play when healthy. Rovers
Spain, the Titans' D isn't that bad... not at all. Pennington was going after Pacman a lot, and they made him look bad quite a few times. That kid has tallent, but is too axious to make the big play, and bites early. The run D was solid, and the LB corp is good. The offense also had two nice drives, but the QB situation is a mess, and the O line doesn't look good. I don't care if Volek sugared Fisher's gas tank.... he should have been the starter. But.... the Jets are better than most people think they are... they are a 6 to 8 win team this year. I couldn't understand how they were an underdog in this game....
