jaxfactor
I may have to scratch Hines Ward as my #2 and am wondering if my #3 Djax is available. Otherwise I have to go with David Givens.
ts
I thought that Givens was nursing a hamstring all pre-season ... has he even played yet?
Seahawks21
For the last time---Darrell Jackson is perfectly fine. This is basically just a holdout. He's still pissed about not getting his bonus two years ago. This whole parade is DJack basically saying, fine, if you ain't payin me, I ain't practicin in camp or playin in the preseason. The Seahawks chose not to make a huge deal out of it, and are simply hoping it all works out in the end (sunday). It isnt like he needs the work with Hasselbeck anyway. Flypaste
Just saw this on the site that my local uses. Leading WR Jackson rejoins Seahawks for first time since Super Bowl By GREGG BELL - AP Sports Writer 2006-09-04 20:01 KIRKLAND, Wash. (AP) -Darrell Jackson returned to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday for the first time since last February's Super Bowl loss to Pittsburgh and knee surgery a few weeks later. Seattle's leading receiver came back with his often long, beatnik-style goatee tied in four squiggly lines. ``Someone told me if I pinned it up, it would grow a little more,'' Jackson said after his first practice of the season, six days before the season opener at Detroit. So what does Jackson call his tied-up beard strands? ``Strength,'' Jackson said, smiling. ``Like Samson.'' Jackson may need biblical powers to be fully ready for the Lions on Sunday. Coach Mike Holmgren said he will ease Jackson into the offense against Detroit, and that he won't know until the end of this week how many plays that means for Jackson. ``If he was feeling good, he'd be our starting flanker. He's earned that,'' Holmgren said. ``My biggest thing is not wanting to rush into anything.'' Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck doesn't care if Jackson plays one play or the entire game. Hasselbeck's first full season as a starter, in 2001, was also Jackson's. Hasselbeck often talks of knowing how Jackson is going to run every pass route. ``Who knows?'' Hasselbeck said when asked how much Jackson will play Sunday. ``We're just glad to have him back.'' Jackson had a second surgery on his right knee in four months just after the Super Bowl. In that game, he set a record with five catches in the first quarter. But he also had a key, offensive pass interference penalty that negated his early touchdown in a frustrating 21-10 loss to the Steelers. On Monday, Jackson called the surgery ``just a little clean up'' of an Oct. 12 operation to repair torn cartilage. He missed 10 games, then returned to catch 20 passes in three postseason games. ``I never fully recovered coming back from that first surgery,'' said Jackson, who had a career-high 87 receptions in 2004. ``I was playing at 75 percent.'' That sounds like an optimistic homer reply. Are you sure two knee surgeries on the same knee and the Hawks aggressive play for Branch isn't cause for concern? If this is just a "holdout" situation like you say then a bunch of D-Jax owners can breathe a sigh of relief.
mggoilers
D-Jack has a "bone bruise"? Like Dom Davis has a bone bruise. I've heard that if the latest surgery and rest does not work, he will have to undergo microfracture surgery. I'd steer clear of him. If he plays on Sundays this year, he isn't practicing during the week. I read on another site that he is just getting full range of motion back and still building strength in the leg. Play Ward
Seahawks21
Carson Palmer practically had to have his leg amputated, and he is back on the field in the pocket in game action. Darrell had some minor cleanup done, yet is still out. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..............The knee is fine, he's been seen in the press box drinking Mike's Lemonade during the game and has been seen dancing around with his IPOD. He is FINE. This is all about the money Witsitt promised him that he never saw. That is it. Not a optomistic homer, just someone who is used to the games of this "mini TO". Seahawks21 is exactly correct, DJack will be back, he will catch 8tds and have 1200 yds Walter Jones basically did the same thing for four years in a row. We will all be forgetting about his "knee" issues come week one or two.
panhead55
I was listening to Seattle's radio station KJR. Warren Moon was a guest and was asked how the Hawks would do and specifically how Djax looked. Moon had been at Monday's practice. He said Djax looked very quick and fluid and that he was at full speed. Yes, I'm a homer, but I wouldn't be afraid to play him at all, and I think he has a great matchup with Detroit. Agree with above- sounds risky, but DJax is a gamer and will be ready to roll. after week 1, you better slide Ward back to the 3 hole, b/c Djax is gonna be a better play EVERY WEEK without a doubt.
