Chavez
Gore seems to have a long injury history; if Robinson can make the adjustment to RB (the only guy I recall even attempting to do so recently was Woody Dantzler from Clemson) he might have some potential down the road. I'm pretty sure he'll be available on the waiver wire well into next year though; I wouldn't bother with him except in a large dynasty league. SteelBunz
He was a pretty decent option QB at Penn State.....and a big guy. Mike Nolan has likened his cutting ability to Marcus Allen's. They were comfortable enough with him to let Barlow go. I'd say he's worth a flyer...especially given Gore's injury history. I'd say take him in a late round as a backup if you have Gore in 16-18 player performance leagues. FWIW....I took him in every dynasty league I'm in. He did play RB for his first two years in college so he could pull off the switch. I agree with Chavez though, adopt a wait and see attitude with him. Riffraff
He'll be a starter this year. On special teams...
PSULions
I thought he played WR the first couple years, my bad. He is such a great athlete JoePa had him lined up all over the place to try and get the ball in his hands as much as possible. He was really under used at PSU until he finally got his chance to QB the team last year. He is a special player (although not the greatest QB - accuracy issues). However, I think he really could make it as a RB as he has great skills in the open field and also the ability to run over people when needed. Check out this awesome highlight from the MIN game last year. This highlight will give you an idea how tough this guy can be to take down. Pre-season TD for the Niners Glad the guy didn't have a serious injury from the hit, but as a PSU alum it was one that I will remember for a long time. If he gets a chance to show what he can do, he could make his mark in the NFL too. Edited September 5, 2006 by PSULions
mitpdub
I watched him play this past preseason game and hes good at running in the middle and always seems to push the pile or break a tackle gaining the extra yard or two. This was something that Barlow couldn't do, and because Robinson did so well during training camp, Barlow became expendable. The coaches love Robinson and he was widely praised during training camp. Gore is the starter, but if he ever goes down Robinson isn't much of a drop off. I just hope they don't use Robinson as the short yardage guy, because that will hurt my teams with Gore.
