#1 Pick in next years NFL Draft

I believe the consensus is that the following teams will probably have the worst record:

San Francisco 49ers

NY Jets

Cleveland Browns

Tennessee Titans

New Orleans

Others that may sink that low incluee Buffalo, Houston, Oakland and Green Bay.

So, of these "crappy nine", who's gonna be shooting for Adrian Peterson or Brady Quinn?

SF 4ers -- if Alex Smith throws 1 TD for the second season in a row, they may be looking for a new QB, especially if Gore looks as solid as the coaches think he'll be.

NY Jets -- Prolly could use either guy, although with Kellen Clemens on the roster, Peterson may be the pick.

Cleveland Browns -- Hard to think that Droughns or Frye are the real long-term answers, based on what we've seen from them both. Assuming Droughns and Frye have equivalent seasons this year, that Crennell & Co. will look to replace Droughns before replacing Frye.

Tennessee Titans -- With taking Vince Young and having three adequate (or better) backs on the roster, I'd bet the Titans would take someone else or trade down.

New Orleans Saints -- With Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister in the fold, and Drew Brees recently signed, I could see them taking the same path as the Titans.

Buffalo Bills -- Losman was a 1st round pick a couple of years ago; unless McGahee leaves, I don't think they'll do anything unless Losman does not progress, in which case, they'd be all over Brady Quinn.

Houston Texans -- Adrian Peterson, come on down!!

Oakland Raiders -- Unless they're really sold on Andrew Walter, may look for Quinn. Look for them to trade down or take someone else.

Green Bay -- Aaron Rodgers has not exactly set the world on fire (not too surprisingly) and their RBs don't exactly strike fear in the hearts of their opponents. They may be well served to take them both.

I don't think that Brady Quinn will be the first QB taken in next year's draft.

I agree. Despite all his sickening build up as the Heisman leader simply because he plays for Notre Dame, Quinn looked awfully mediocre (as did the rest of the Irish O) vs a Georgia Tech team that figures to finish in the middle of the ACC pack this year. He sure didn't exhibit much poise in the pocket.

I would guess the only thing that precludes Adrian Peterson as the #1 pick is an injury.

New York Jets will have the #1 pick and take Brady Quinn, because of the Weiss Connection with the Jets new coach.

Whoever is 2nd will snag Adrian Peterson.

As a Jet fan and former season ticket holder, I'd like nothing more than the Jets to take Adrian Peterson. Call it a man crush or whatever you want, but since his freshman year, I have been drooling for my Jets to take him. With a high #1 and two # 2's (theirs and Washington's), the Jets will be in great shape to target and get whomever they want next year.

Barring injury as BB said, he should be the top pick for my Jets.

I'd be real surprised if the Jets went QB in the first round next year, everyhting I've read sauys that they are pretty pleased with Clemens so far. Whereas peterson would fill a glaring need.

All moot, the Jets will manhandle the Titans on opening day and this will preclude them from getting that #1 pick.

anyone who thinks that brady quinn isnt the cream of the 07 qb crop, because of a poor showing in an opener on the road against a very tough defense, is crazy....

"Despite all his sickening build up as the Heisman leader simply because he plays for Notre Dame"

simply because he plays for notre dame?...yeah i guess his 3900 yards and 32 tds last year have nothing to to with it....he might not have looked that great saturday night...but if you watched any notre dame games his freshman and soph. years, and then watched him last year, youd would have seen how he improved by leaps and bounds...footwork..pocket presence...everything....teams will be clamoring for him..he has pedigree

You may have a point. Being at the Fiesta Bowl last year, I saw him get frustrated by OSU's D and rightfully so. But I was very impressed with the way he dealt with it to keep taking his shots down field. He's got potential. I'll have to watch more of him this year.

On the other hand, I was at the NC State football game and....uh....well.......they have 0 QB. Nada, zilch.

This offseason they sent Rogers to QB camp to work on fundamental and he has improved greatly. While still inconsistent he is a lot better. May make it. They lost 6 games by 18 points and with players should improve.

I think Smith will too. Gore gained 4.8 IPC and with Barlow gone will improve. Their line is better too.

Tennessee looks the most dysfunctional at the moment.

lol..whos the qb at nc state this year? still jay davis? marcus stone? lol yeah thats rough

its just funny to me though..i think the notre dame haters really loved to see ND struggle saturday...just to validate themselves...but me, i think it was a good, tough, win for them...i dont think many casual college football fans are aware of the respect gtech defensive coordinator jon tenuta has

C'mon, all but the most deluded domer would admit that Quinn recieves a tremendous boost for being the good-looking QB for a certain midwestern Jesuit school.

He's a legit Heisman guy, don't get me wrong. But with those #s at another university... :D Iowa ...and he's certainly in the crowd, but not the anointed front-runner.

Just to clarify... I think Quinn is definitley an elite college QB and will most likely be a first rounder, but I do not think he will be the first QB taken. There are a bunch of other talented college QB's out there that nobody talks about. That's not a knock on Quinn or ND at all... it's just not a foregone conclusion that Quinn is the best out there (or will be scouted as the best out there specifically by the NFL teams looking for another rookie QB). See Matt Leinart.

when you look at who is coaching brady quinn and who is responsible for his remarkable improvement...that guys resume speaks for itself....its called pedigree....and let me just say..there arent many very good qb prospects out there right now who run pro style offenses...save for maybe brian brohm

Editorial Notes:

1) BQ and AP were chosen because they are the best combination of "best at their position" and "most widely known". I mean, what % of the NFL fanbase has seen Marshawn Lynch actually play (live or on TV) vs. those that have seen AP?

2) Feel free to substitute in other potentially crappy NFL teams into the above list.

3) Feel free to substitute in other potentiall steller NFL draft prospects in lieu of BQ and/or AP.
