:D to my mom God rest her soul. Every year I raise a glass of the suds to her. If there is a heaven, she is there watching the game tonight. I love this time of year...better than Christmas for me. Best of luck to everyone and your teams...may it be a fun and insane football season.

I get the chills before every game. I miss the pre-game and post-game phone calls. It has been a non-stop struggle for me for 15 months now..... Still can't believe he wasn't there to celebrate the Super Bowl with me, and even worse, he won't be here when my son is born. However, I firmly believe he will be looking down. Sorry, didn't mean to steal your thread, but, this hit close to home, as I was literally teared up about 5 minutes ago.

 Cheers to your Mom and my Dad, may they be enjoying the season from heaven above.

Can you imagine the Sunday Ticket package they get in Heaven? It must rule.

:D

Heck, you most likely get to watch the game with Lombardi and Papa Bear....

"WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOIN' OUT THERE?"

....wait, maybe that wouldn't be so great.

In all seriousness, if it gives you a warm remembrance, it is well worth the time.

Amazing how something like football can have such meaning in our lives... I am enjoying sharing my love of the NFL with my 2 year old son, and I am already cherishing the memories that we are making by bonding over these games!

my grandfather opassed away last week, was a HUGE redskins fan going back to the late 30's, after the team moved from boston to d.c.. one of the last joys he had was chilling in his recliner and watching the 'skins with his earpiece in and the volume cranked up full blast. i always thought his head would explode but he wouldn't watch any other way.:D

football and family often to go hand in hand, so this is a great thread DW, and i'm glad it brought up fond stories/memories for other huddlers. :D
