jgcoach
Great thing to hear. What do you think his role will be if it does happen?
Thunder Chicken
Per Mort on ESPN. He says he thinks the Pats and Seahawks will deal. did he give any indications on what the "deal" would entail?
theeohiostate
Great thing to hear. What do you think his role will be if it does happen? He'd have to be the #2 over Burleson. But if DJack has lingering effects, he'd be an instant stud.
theeohiostate
did he give any indications on what the "deal" would entail? No, but i'd imagine a 2007 2nd rounder. At this point, really, what does NE have to gain by not dealing him? They have alot to lose if they dont.

jjpro11
i am glad i didnt get djax in any leagues.. i was pretty high on him too, he just never fell to me at the right time in my drafts.

They have alot to lose if they dont. What they have nothing to loose they want a first rounder Branch has nothing he can do about it an next year they can just Tag him so trust me the pats wont lose out on this

As a homer I don't see Deion Branch coming to Seattle hurting Djax's value in the short term.
Goopster24
Sweetness as I have him in two of my leagues, both dynasty. Niceeee.
Massamule
I'll believe it when I see it. Mort was just speculating...his comment was practically an after-thought. Although.....with their latest offensive outing against the Lions, I'd say Mort's speculation is somewhat more substantial.
Jimmy Neutron
That would put SEA in the catbird seat for a run at the NFC championship.

bigdadreed
I'm not sure how to feel about this one. I drafted Branch when he was still on the board in the 12th round ( ) but, as a Rams fan, would hate to see him on the Hawks ( ).
Seahawk37
our O-line looks shaky without Hutch though.....
Vote Quimby2
Branch staying put? <Sep. 7> According to ESPN.com's John Clayton, Seattle can't pick up Branch in a trade and the discussions about the subject are minimal. The Seahawks have no trouble giving Branch over $7 million a year but the Patriots will only trade him for close to two first-round picks. The only true offer on the table is a second-round choice from the Jets and the Patriots aren't going to give the Jets a wide receiver. edit: granted, this is dated 9/7 maybe they made progress over the weekend. bushwacked
hes got branch and burleson to take catches away, not to mention he's still healing from an injury. Last year he had Joe J and Engram to take away catches, Matt Hasselbeck will always spread the ball around the field, but make no mistake that Djax is his favorite target. I'm more concerned as a Burleson owner. The latest word in Seahawk land is that Djax is and was healthy all pre-season and that his holdout was a statement. Former president Bob Whitsitt gave Djax the impression that he would get a back loaded signing bonus on his current contract and apparently that isn't going to happen. NoSupe4You
Rumors are flying, no link yet. Branch for Engram and a 2nd rounder So a game into the season, get rid of a receiver who knows and runs the routes well? I really don't like that.
