mlittle1105
I just LOVE Week One of the NFL season. Instead of getting to enjoy any of the NFL games, I instead --- year after year --- get to field phone calls and emails from angry team owners shrieking like little girls about the fact that they can't access Sportsline's "Live Update" game ticker... or that it has "stalled out" on them... or that it is unavailable.. or that they are just getting a blank screen. I wouldn't be so irritated if this happened once or twice. But the fact of the matter is that in the five years that I've been running my league through Sportsline, THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY YEAR DURING WEEK 1. To their credit, Sportsline almost always gets the issues fixed within a day or two. But why can't they take a proactive approach and get the system running properly in the first place??? I'm no expert, but I would assume that what's going on is a bandwidth or traffic overload issue of some sort. Is it really that hard to do the math and then plan for the worst-case scenario? Why is it that Sportsline needs to be have the system go down before they do anything about it????? I know, I know... If it bothers me that much, I should just switch to another FFL provider. But the Week 1 issues aside, Sportsline does a more or less flawless job with the rest of the season. And some of the owners in my league probably can't handle the learning curve associated with "learning" a new fantasy system (such as ESPN).... and I'm not even exaggerating. Right now, I'm just frustrated and needed to vent.

Chief Dick
My Fantasy Leauge = Bliss. That's why, time and time again, when people ask around here, what is the most common answer? MFL.
Chavez
Tell your league owners to go cry to mama.
Steelhead
why are your owners calling to lady dog to you? If they got their lineups in then just kick back and check it out later when they have it fixed. Or just dont answer the phone.
loaf
no problems here with CBS (except the score doesn't have me up by enough ). I've been on all day. No Owner's complained to me and if they did, I'd tell them to go pound salt. I can't fix it for them.

Its funny.. about thirty seconds after I posted, the Live Scoring ticker finally came back online on my PC. But God knows how long it'll stay that way. I don't know what to tell you. I received three phone calls and three emails from owners complaining about it and had the same issue on my PC (in both firefox and IE). And yeah... my response to them is pretty much to be patient. But it doesn't stop them from whining about it year after year...
Chavez
Your response should be "dudes, you KNOW this happens EVERY year. You ALSO know I can't do squat about it." And then, as loaf said, tell them to go pound sand. If my league owners were such whiny little snatches, I'd be absolutely YELLING at them for giving me grief. Rovers
I'm in two leagues where the commish is in freakish man love for a web site called CBS. One a hole commish put up a vote on Thursday.... the same day of the first game of the season, to cut the flex from 3 to 2 on offense. Why? Because several tools submitted illeagl line ups. CBS can't handle the illegal line up. I said let the tools take a zero.... and was voted down. What a jerk league.

Changing the number of flex positions impacts the way players are drafted.
