madden curse ...

I watched the Lions game yesterday and their D is the real deal. Hasselbeck was getting hit constantly and Alexander was consistently wrapped up in the backfield. It's too bad their O sucks a fat one. Maybe the loss of Hutchinson is a bigger deal than people think.

Now if we could only get the offense to do the same!

E. Sims looks like the real deal.

didn't he start out 2005 with no TDs as well? I need to see a couple more games before I say the curse strikes.

According to this week's Tunnel Vision, he had 73 yards and 0 TD week 1 last year as well. But that was against Jacksonville which I thought had the better defense. Either Detroit upgraded it's defense, Shaun had an off week, or the curse is alive and well. But I would agree that a couple more games are needed. Now if his leg gets ripped off at the knee, then I'd say the curse is still around.

i don't know who this "shaun" alexander is that you speak of. those who read tunnel vision know his real name is steve.

I saw that to. I was like, who's Steve? I know there is a Stephen Alexander, but not a Steve. But then I thought, well, maybe it was like Steven Jackson where somepeople spell his name Steve, Steven, or Stephen. But then the record setting 28 TD confirmed that they don't know how to spell the reigning top RB's name.

Naw- Hawks struggled against a fired up, fast D playing their home opener, period. SA alwyas has games where he is less than stellar- he just didn't get a chance to pop a TD. The Lion D played well, and Sea O had a poor showing, let's hold off on any curses for now.

Also, the o-line looked about the same with Hutch in their first game against Jackonsville last year.

I think our Lion defense is definately on the rise. Sims played great and Rogers and Hall were dominating.

That being said the Seattle defense looked to miss Hutchinson a great deal. Jones also got hurt and did not look his dominating self.

I think if Seattle would of stayed with the pass they would of had a lot more success. I mean Hasslebeck was 25 for 30. it was obvious the Lions made their minds up to stop the run and let them beat us with the pass if they could. they still got the victory on the road so they did what they needed to do so I guess none of that matters.

To me Seattle played a team that stacked against the run and it was a team that the Hawks did not know what to expect from with all the changes. I think if they came back to play us tommorrow they would beat us by more.

It's week 1. The center missed a lot of preseason to injury, the right tackle replacing Hutch had difficulty and even Walter Jones looked to be on his heels a bit... Mack Strong too.

They need some time, the Lions came to play. Probably a good wake up call for the Hawks.

I agree here. Didn't know what to expect. That said.. no excuses, the Lions D looked tough and fast.

Kevin Jones looks good too. Seahawks defense may be better than their offense this year. Jones should do well against other matchups.

so is everyone too afraid to comment? alexander puts up a scant 50 yards against the lions? are the gods of madden wreaking havoc once again? was this just a fluke?

enquiring minds want to know ...

I'd say it's too early to call 'curse' just yet, Alexander is healthy so that has to count for something. We still got 15 games to go...

Unless of course my fantasy schedule shows that I am playing someone who has Alexander. Then I'll be shouting "Madden Curse" from the rooftops!!!
